hope there ok but as soon as i passed this wreck i had a little accident involving a big turkey or some sort of big bird flew across in front of me and broke threw my windshield well i made it home
unbelievable.
There should be more strenuous requirements and testing to obtain a drivers license. Sure accidents can happen but someone wasnt paying attention or wasnt sure the traffic laws are as far as crossing roads/intersections or yeilding to traffic. A vehicle just didnt appear in an instance, it was traveling down the road. Not sure what vehicle was at fault here but serious charges and a suspension of their license should be an option.
It was hilarious driving by and seeing that a City of Zebulon police car rear ended another vehicle at a yield sign onto 341 N near El Durango. The police car should be cited for it just like a regular citizen would, but I'm sure he'll get away with it.

Why was it hilarious. An accident is an accident is an accident. I'm sure the people involved didn't think it was hilarious. It just goes to show that accidents can happen to any one, or even a group of people. Just look at that massive accident in Washington DC going own right now. It going to take, not years, but generations for the nation to heal from the Pelosi/Obama and American People pile-up.
there's been about 4 or 5 accidents today on friday April 03, one involving a pike county police officer. any body know him he might be done for i think he ran into a pick up truck at corner of college drive and 341 near the Bp/Marathon gas station
hey, it's so quite over here, we sent a cop over there to help out. i guess it was not much help. L.C. is locking up folks at such a pace, our officer is most likely locked up also.... i do agree that if he was at fault, he should be cited. anyone else would.
How can we see about getting a red light at Grove Street and 341, I fig when that child died a while back they would finally put one up. What is it going to take, that is a dangerous intersection.
should be noted that all you dumbs that do not yield at the merging road at the old hot spot need to be slapped... it's YIELD not an on-ramp! and yield means:
Yield sign, a traffic sign controlling the give-way rules at an intersection (also called a give way sign)
that means LOOK and see if anyone's coming on the dang two lane hiway because THEY have the right away... NOT you.
p.s. if you wreck at that grove street intersection--- you deserve it.. you're a moron if you think you're suppose to just fly across the four lane without YIELDING in the middle to make sure no traffic is coming.
it's just nature's way to sort out the stupid folks round here
You are supposed to get over if the left lane is empty, I guess you are one of those that stays in that lane just waiting for an accident to happen! Accidents happen and that child that died at that intersection did not deserve it, and his parents are not Morons, that is a very dangerous intersection! People that think the way you do, do not need to be driving. You never know when its your time.
Is is "ASSUMED" that you are required to move over to that left lane if able to do so or did you simply make that one up off of the top of your head???
If I have the RIGHT OF WAY on the highway (especially if I am getting ready to make a right turn onto the bypass)and you have a YEILD sign on your stretch of roadway ... just who do you think will be cited???
It is an entrance ramp onto the highway not a stop sign any fool with common sense would know that if it is safe to move over to the left lane it would just be a common courtesy to do so. Dumb people think that they own the road!!!!!!!!!
no you idiot you do not HAVE to get over if especially if you're getting onto hiway 36.... you're one of those morons that thinks that's an on ramp and almost causes a wreck every time you're on that road i bet. Accidents happen at the hot spot area because stupid drivers like you ignore the YIELD sign and do not look for oncoming traffic! People getting into wrecks at that intersection AND grove street are a result of lack of smarts for the most part... it's easy to look LEFT, look RIGHT.... simple as the gas being on the right and brake on the left.... USE THEM.
again..... LOOK BEFORE YOU CROSS THE ROAD... it was taught to you in elementary school and applies throughout your life.... and YIELD MEANS STOP FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC ---- two lanes of traffic have the right away over a small merging road that has a yield sign clearly posted at the end of it.
#9.1 you're a complete idiot! northbound traffic has the right of way and you are suppose to check before you get on 19/41. IF it was an on ramp, yes you would need to move over... like on the interstate... yet this is not an interstate and there is a sign there... a YIELD SIGN.... so no reason to move over in the left lane. There's two roads just after this area and if you're turning right you STAY IN THE RIGHT LANE.... #9.1 i'm scared to drive with idiots like you on the roadways.
there does not need to be a redlight there... it's a matter of PAYING ATTENTION TO TRAFFIC.... if a car is coming.. STOP.... if not... still YIELD in the middle, look left, look right.. then cross the hiway....
this is lamar county though.. not that many brains 'round chere get 'r done
Yesterday you miss it. New fire headquarters is in the works. By mid month, Lamar County could be one step closer toward establishing a brand new fire and rescue headquarters inside the Barnesville city limits....
I am sorry that this all ran off topic as usual and sincerely hope all involved in this accident are doing well.
As for the YEILD SIGN issue ... I am greatful that my Daughter had to stop at one while learning to drive while I was in the car with her so that I could explain to her that this is sometimes the case and she needs to pay CLOSE attention in the event that she needs to actually stop.
Also, on the Interstate it is NOT required to move over when an on ramp merges but most people do try to move over as a courtesy. The move over law pertains to emergency vehicles on the roadside only and that even has a grey area pertaining to if it is safe to move over.
The Grove Street accidents do not make much sense to me either since there is the safety of the median where you are supposed to look to make sure there is no oncoming traffic before continuing across ... I don't think they put up traffic lights due to lack of using common sense.
The only reason ppl shouldnt shift lanes if available near the hotspot is because they are gonna be turning onto the bypass. No they arent required by law to slide over for the merging traffic but you are not required by law not to belch extrememly loud multiple times while eating in a resturaunt either. Its just manners and common courtesy. If you drive enough each day these things will come into play naturally. I try to move over reguardless of where im at.
You are not required to move over on the interstate either. Its just a safe and courteous thing to do.
22 times grove street accident. Long time ago.
Police and firefighters said... A yellow flashing light means you must slow down and exercise caution before proceeding through the intersection. A red flashing light means you must stop completely. treat as you would a stop sign. Proceed with caution only after yielding the right of way to pedestrians and to other vehicles at the intersection.

a lot of times what will happen is traffic coming form the volunteer FF station that wants to turn on grove st wont get on the other side of the intersection like they are supposed to or vice versa with traffic coming from hotspot area. You cannot see if there is traffic coming when someone is on the wrong side wanting to turn. When you come up on an intersection like this one you are supposed to proceed through the intersection ( 341 traffic that is) and go to the far side where the grass starts again so you can see traffic and not have to try to look through the vehicles windows that otherwise would be in front of you. This is a law that is taught to drivers. Ppl just dont do it.
courtesy is also OBEYING the traffic signs.... OBEYING a yellow light or yield sign as it is the law.... big difference in moving over for courtesy and being ignorant and ignoring completely lights and signs....
I am very sorry. Grove st fire station is closed. New fire and rescue headquarters. They are moving in. Mid Georgia Ambulance headquarters is at grove st station.

LEARN the laws of the road and FOLLOW them.
