they need a mandatory minimum of 5yrs. Im sure our wonderful judicial system here will give them probation and 1000 dollar fine. This should be a felony that lingers with them the rest of their life. Prosecute to the fullest. Im sure someone will get on here and try to justify why they done it or why they shouldnt be charged to the fullest

We are all looking forward to meeting all that new meat. Don't worry about those names cause we going to change that. Get ready for a change you won't ever forget ladies.
This saddens me, because one of the Churches, a family member was a member of for a long time.
It is my hope these young men learn, and the hard way is ok, that you dont do things like this. You effect the feelings of alot of people.
These are kids. They are not murderers or rapists. Just kids. I am not justifying what they did. It was wrong on a number of reasons.
However, the oldest individual there is 22, the youngest 19. Why should their lives be ruined over destruction of property. They did not hurt anyone and I strongly doubt they had any intentions or desires on harming anyone.
Teach them a fair and just lesson. But give them the opportunity to better themselves. Perhaps the choice to join the military instead of imprisonment.
Taking away years of their lives in prison is not going to help the community or help them make some thing of themselves so they can make the world a better place.
Does it say in the Bible "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth?" No. The Rosetta Stone is not the Bible. Turn the other cheek. A true follower of Christ shows mercy and forgiveness. These boys committed a crime and should be punished. But calling them slanderous names is not Christlike in the least bit.
Here you go again - the liberals of the world are bringing this great country to its knees. These boys committed crimes - they should be punished. It was the parents responsibility to teach them right from wrong and if in fact they did their best to do that - now it is society who has to take a strong stance and punish them. We will be teaching them a lesson - do the crime you will do the time. I don't fall for that "poor children" junk! Shame on you!
These are not kids. They are all over the age of 18 and made a concious decision about what they were doing. I don't think they all need 5 years minimum, but they do need to be treated like adults. I think 6 months and fixing the vandalism with hard labor plus an additional 100 hours of community service would be good for them.
The military? What makes you think the military wants them? As a retired military officer I take offense when anybody thinks the military is a place to send criminals.
Your other statement; why should their lives be ruined? They should have thought of that before doing what they did. No one hurt? Once again, you've got to be kidding me! The reason crime is on the rise is because of the kind of thinking that people shouldn't be held accountable for their actions.
They should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and if found guilty they should recieve the maximum allowable sentence.
What about the family members of the life long New Hope member, a World War 2 veteran, whose funeral had to moved because of this?
These were adults, not kids. At least one of them sat on the pews of New Hope when he was a KID. I guess he didn't pay attention to the sermons!

Surely you're not suggesting that they were too young to know right from wrong at their age. Additionally this was not some garage or private residence. Burglary is one thing but vandalism to a house of worship is another.
In eleven states, including Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, South Carolina, and Texas, a "juvenile" is legally defined as a person under seventeen.
Regardless of what anyone thinks, it is still up to those practicing law, judges, and possibly a jury to determine a crime and what a just sentence is.
Personally I think vandalism to a house of worship is a terrible action but I don't know all the circumstances. Neither do those posting. Most of what is being said is in response to the nature of the type of crime committed. Everyone knows, or should know that the three individuals are innocent until proven guilty.
Taken from: Law Encyclopedia: Vandalism
The intentional and malicious destruction of or damage to the property of another.
Vandalism is a malicious act and may reflect personal ill will, although the perpetrators need not know their victim to commit vandalism. The recklessness of the act imputes both intent and malice.
The penalties upon conviction may be a fine, a jail sentence, an order to pay for repairs or replacement, or all three. In addition, a person who commits vandalism may be sued in a civil tort action for damages so that the damaged property can be repaired or replaced.
Why do you try to defend all the one's who do wrong? The made the choice and now they pay for the choice they made. Make them men with some balls......Not a man without balls!!
I agree with you....let them do 3 or 4 years in the military and I guarantee that will make a man out of them. They'll look back and be ashamed of what they did.
so what kind of punishment will the military give them for vandalizing the churches. The military doesnt fix problems. They may learn stuff there that they never did at home. Sure. But what type of punishment should they get for these actions. Military shouldnt be a punishment. I know a few ppl that are more gung-ho and wide open after military than before. Sure they had dicipline in the military but they act however they want to after it.
Crimes have been commited and the military shouldnt be a form of sentencing. If they want to volunarily enlist after the punishment is given to them so that they can become a better person potentially then what ever.
i say prison.... these nut-fukcs arent going to be productive in society so they might as well start learning a trade of making license plates and folding laundry
I have nothing against punishing them. But do so in a manner that also benefits the community as well as themselves.

I agree.
I respect the law and I also respect God. I am a Christian. And I agree fully to taking responsibility for your actions. I also believe in reforming people. I believe in taking whatever you have, no matter how bad or good, and making something better out of it instead of just leaving it alone.
I'm quite sure that these churches need some work done. Mowing the grass, weed pulling, painting, toilet cleaning, etc. I feel they need to provide at least 100 hours service to each church, plus 100 hours for the community. As others have stated, they need some direction, and by an order to help the churches, maybe they will find it. My comment on this also goes with the sentence of fines and time behind bars, along with probation. I also think that they should, with permission of each church, address it's members of what why they vandalized and followed with an apology.
These guys are mostly guilty of being just down right STUPID. If they only really knew how much they just screwed up their life. Ignorant I can somestimes excuse but stupid...God help them now!
Ron White says you can fix the hearing empaired with a hearing aid, ppl with sight problems can have surgery and or glasses, ppl missing a limb can have an artificial one that works really good but YOU JUST CANT FIX STUPID.
Why do those boys with extremely large ears insist on inflicting damamge and chaos? Boys just grow your hair out over them dinner plates yall call ears.
I dont think these guys need a spot in the military. I head neal boortz saying there was some ppl down near naples florida that were shooting some kind of endangered species bird from a protected area just for fun. Guess what they were all in the military and if im not mistaken they were there for some type of flight school. These ppl dont deserve a chance to represent this country.
Sorry no military. $5 million fine or 26 year in prison. Charge with burglary, vandalism and graffiti. Denver, Jacob and Jacob stay at the Department of Corrections.
