Will the cops be there to bust everyone drunk driving in golfs carts. I might just spend my time driving around waiting for one to pull out in front of me then floor it.

Damn, JD get off the golf carts already. They are legal in the city. If you don't like that, go through the proper channels and try to have the law changed. You'll have to use your real name, though, if you dare.

As for the blues festival, it is one fun event. Now already better than Buggy Days. Loosen up and try to enjoy it. Maybe you need to hire Big Daddy D to show you the ropes.

Just asking a question here so don't go getting all bent out of shape. Is it legal to have an open container on a golf cart?

I don't blame you. Those carts are a hazard even when people are not hammered. People get right in the middle of a 35 MPH road, far from the curb, and go 15 without the common sense to move to the side. Some crazy kid in a green cart loads his up with other kids and turns in front of people, races around corners on two wheels, and other stupid things. None of them have insurance or tags so they put everyone else at risk.

it is illegal to have a open container in a golf cart and you must have a valid drivers licence to drive them on city streets

I am going to the bar tonight and practicing getiin' my drunk on for the festival...Lol I am going to be with some long lost buddies come'n up for it. might even get out the Panama City Beach funnel for the occasion! lol

Can't wait! Went shopping with my mom and bought me some new spring clothes and can't wait to wear them for this, just don't know which outfit to wear, I got so many,lol. I also got some new sneakers so my feet will be comfortable from doing all that walking from beer stand to beer stand,lol. I may not eat though, not much on BBQ. Does anyone know if Nascar is racing that weekend? If so OMG IT WILL BE A GREAT WEEKEND!

why would you think that it is OK to have an open container on a golf cart. Or better yet drink and operate a golf cart. There is a man over near aldora that has a dui or more than one dui on a Lawn Mower. You can get a DUI on anything that is motorized.

Ofcourse i have to agree with the original post that lots of this stuff gets overlooked about golf carts because many ppl who can afford one are "higher up" citizens with a little more cash flow. I remember stuff in the paper about a certain age to operate a golf cart and they were gonna crack down. I dont think so. Its still going on. The BPD dont mind writing a ticket on someone who parks at the womens clubhouse to draw some revenue but overlook somethings.
