By all accounts, the 2009 Barnesville BBQ & Blues Festival was the most successful in its five-year history.

I'm not trying to start trouble, but why did they allow one person to park a gulf cart right in the middle of the lawn? With people sitting all around that did not look smart, safe, or considerate of other spectators.

It seems very odd to not allow people to carry in their own water while at the same time letting someone park a big golf cart right in the middle of the crowd, blocking the view of others and creating a safety issue, and then driving the big cart out through the crowd making people dodge out of the way.

100 days. "Obama gets an F." Is Barack Obama the first Asian-American president? or first Indian-American president? He is not the first African-American president. Of course Obama is yellow? Obama is orange?. He's half white and half black "Hawaiian or Hong Kong or India"??? We do not have our first black president.

Corrections! Obama's father is a BLACK African man and that does make him a black man. His HAWAIIAN mother is half white and so therefore is white also. So to sum it all up he is a mixed man. Whether or not he is black or white what does that have to do with the events that took place over the weekend. We need more events like this to help bring money back into our town. Good Job Lamar County.

Maybe he's getting an F because people spend more time critizing him; they should be praying for him. His nationality doesn't matter. He's the president, lets accept it and spend time praying for our nation.

I don't know who was in it. That doesn't matter.

What matters is they allowed a large vehicle right into the lawn area in the middle of a crowd. It blocks other people's view, it is a hazard getting it in and out through the crowd.

I'm not surprised someone is thoughtless enough to drive it in there, I'm just surprised they allowed it into the grassy area in the middle of a crowd of people trying to sit.

No arrest video. Barnesville/Lamar County firefighters said today. The tall flames and smoke visible to the west of Barnesville on Friday night and ealy Saturday were the result of controlled burn on about 15 acres off Hwy 18 West just over the line in Pike County.
