Offensively, Freshman Jake Shockley (2-3) led the Trojans at the plate, as he was the only Trojan to record 2-hits in the contest. Other Trojan players making contact with the baseball for hits were Trent Nix (1-3), Calvin Adams (1-4; 2B), Blane Parker (1-4), Michael Sneed (1-4), Marc English (1-1), & T.J. English (1-4).
The Trojans now stand at 14-5 overall, and 9-4 in the region with 5-games still left on the regular season schedule to play. They will resume play on Monday, 4/27, when they travel to Stockbridge to take on the 4-AAAA Tigers. After that, they will visit a Region 5-AA opponent -- Jordan -- in a DH to be played at Golden Park in Columbus on Tuesday, 4/28. Continuing to play on the road to finish out the regular season, the Trojans will visit the 4-AAA Eagles Landing Team on Thursday, 4/30. Finally, the regular season will come to an end on Friday, 5/1, when the team again logs some road miles in another contest to be played in Columbus against a Region 5-AA opponent -- the Spencer Greenwave Owls.
After the regular season comes to a conclusion on Friday, 5/1, the Trojans will travel -- as the #3 seed from Region 5-AA -- to play a yet to-be- determined #2 seed from Region 6-AA. At the moment, it looks as if that team will be one of the 4-teams -- Lovett, Blessed-Trinity, Greater Atlanta Christian, or Decatur.
