I'm personally very happy that Larry's back in office. I didn't know Buice that well, but he seemingly did a good job in performing the duties that he was sworn to uphold. I just had a good repertoire with Larry and on a personal level, consider him to be a dear friend. B/LC should take great comfort in the fact that a very capable and qualified individual is taking the lead in serving them. Almost makes me wish that I was back home again.....Almost!
Sheriff Waller did not let HA out. He does not have that power. Judge Thomas is the one who let him out. I have talked to four different officers who have all said that they almost never saw Joe when he was Sheriff, but they said they see Sheriff Waller every day .I am a officer with another agency and don’t know Joe or Larry, but I have noticed that since Sheriff Waller has been back in office the employee's are MUCH more professional. We all use to laugh at what a joke the Lamar county S.O was, but I think that is going to change now.
Re: Minime -- You can't win with some people. Stay in the office and manage and you aren't out doing your job. Leave the office, and you are not doing your job. If you are disappointed because he let Abreu out, get over it, because he did not let him out. If you don't like the laws that govern us, call your lawmakers. One thing for sure -- you will not hear any of Waller's employees say that he cursed them and called them degrading names. Before you blast him, try to remember that he knows the law (probably better than you or I do) and it is his job to uphold it. If you don't agree with him or want clarification on anything that goes on at the jail -- call him. He has asked anyone with questions or concerns to pick up the phone and give him a call and he will try to give you any info you need.
I know personally that my husband and I are glad Waller is back in office. We have had some issued from our neighbors while Buice was in office and would never get any response. I am hoping that Waller will take action. We have lived in Lamar Co. for 20 years and love this community. Even nice communities have neighbors that bring "issues".
Larry, you'll be hearing from me soon!

I'm a bit disappointed he let Abreu out. I understood both immigration and his probation officer had a hold on him. Is that true or not?
