School superintendents from Lamar, Pike, Spalding and Upson counties met Monday to plot strategy for school closings with one to three inches of snow and/or ice in the local weather forecast.
UPDATE @ 2:15 p.m.: Lamar schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for students. Eleven and 12 month employees should report Tuesday morning.
St. George's Episcopal School in Milner will be open Tuesday but closed Wednesday.
Gordon State College will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Southern Crescent Technical College has closed all locations Tuesday and Wednesday.

Absolutely, Tom. You can't have a good dusting of snow without milk, bread, toilet paper, bottled water and snacks. Actually, since Ingle's warehouse is up in North Carolina it may take an extra day to get the trucks out and down to Georgia. Now's my chance to eat my emergency can of beanie weenies and saltines! :)
