Adults and children alike cavorted all around Trojan Field at the new Lamar County Stadium this morning as ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held followed by an open house. (video after the jump)

It was completely unfair to have not let the high school students attend this event.

Just who was responible for that mess up?

The stadium is for use of ALL of the schools and not just for the students participating in sports.

As a parent I feel that this really needs to be answered as well as corrected. It was WRONG.

in regards to your comment high school students were allowed to attend the event. in order to go you must have played a sport that uses the football feild. i.e. football, track, soccer. so high schoolers did indeed get to go.

ALL students should have been allowed to attend the same as it was for the other schools.

Did the Trojans go onto win the game. I saw it was 52-30? Wow, what a shoot-out! And how can it be first and 0,and where is the 0 yd line?

Off the subject but ajc reports this morning that former local golfer, Rob Butler made it through US Open sectional qualifier in Marietta yesterday. He was one of only 7 players from Ga who advanced to the next qualifier.

He was one of my BFF's in highschool. He is very good in golf. I have played with him many times and I never had my "A" game.lol. He played pro for a number of years and now is back at amatuer status. He is playing the best golf of his career now. I follow it closely. Go Rob!!

It is a very nice stadium from what i have seen. But here is my problem i understand our seniors will have graduation ceremony at the new stadium this year, but parents and other close family members will not get to sit on the field to view our graduates this year. Because of the grass will be ruined! We wont even be allowed to get on the field to take pictures! I think this is awful and not fair to our graduates, who want their family members to be able to have the same experience that our seniors have had in the past years. This is a one day event and only happens once in a lifetime for our high school seniors.

Take a damn picture at the house,in the parking lot, in your yard, in the car, whereever you want. Why does IT have to be taken on the field.

As a none resident of Lamar County You all
should be very proud of the New State of the Art New Staduim...I am very proud for you all in Lamar County...I happen to have been in barnesville on Business last Friday and I could not belive my eyes... It is awsome the
only problem I see is that when MANCHESTER
COMES OVER LOOK OUT HA HA...Just kidding
Stadiums looks great I'm very jealous...

thanks for your support in this apparently the jerk doesn't have a senior graduating this year or just doesn't care! I really wish that someone would give this matter some attention!

in response to your question "why does it have to be taken on the field?" we as parents should be able to take them on the field because some of those pictures would be of the entire graduating class or of the delivery of the diploma to our seniors. those pictures can not be at home or in the parking lot! our seniors i believe have certainly earned that right after 12 years of school. and as a mother let me give you a piece of advice my mother gave me many years ago as a child "If you don't have anything nice to say then maybe u shouldn't say anything at all!"
