They say time flies when you are having fun and BBQ & Blues is definitely a fun-filled event but it is still hard to believe the festival is celebrating its 10th birthday this weekend.
The festival begins Thursday with the after hours/kickoff event at United Bank from 5-7 p.m. but cook team trucks hauling campers and elaborate grill rigs will start arriving earlier so get ready to pig out and party.

Polish up your dancing shoes and whet your appetite for fresh smoked barbecue because BBQ & Blues 2014 is upon us. The 10th anniversary edition of the popular festival kicks off at 5 p.m. Thursday with the kickoff party/after hours at United Bank in downtown Barnesville. UB president Robbie Tenney, left, invites the public to attend. There will be plenty to do and plenty to eat for everyone in your family so plan to make a weekend of it. Today’s Herald Gazette has the entire event covered and offers tips on where to be and when to be there during the weekend. (Photo compilation: Angela Bagwell)
