Sheriff's department investigators are on the scene of an alleged home invasion that occurred early this morning at a residence on Shadowmore Drive near the Pike County line.

I am shocked to see how much crime is recently occuring in Lamar County. Are the criminals not scared of Larry? I thought Lamar was a safe place to live.

depends on where you live. There is a 0% crime rate in my neighborhood. I cant remember anything happening here ever. My mother was raised 4 houses down from where i live now. Just always been a good neighborhood.

aah hahahah,you got to be kidding me.the present sheriff's office is to busy worring about getting enough money into the bugget by giving out speeding tickets so when it comes time for re-election they can say "look everybody at how we kept the budgett in check". as the meth-heads walk off with everybodys furniture.i wondered how the people of lamar county could reelect this bunch,but look who the people of america elected president!need we say more?

The reason we now hear of so many arrests is that for the past three years the criminals didn't have anything to worry about. They knew the Buice regime was not out to get them. This administration is not consumed with speeders either -- they get them all when they break the law. I don't know how you can even compare the past administration to the job these guys are doing. Between the lies and temper tantrums of the past administration, there just was not time to enforce the law.

Yep, it is definitely different, because Buice was after his own employees a great deal of the time with threats and accusations. As far as Larry's tantrum, it did prove a point. His administration did bring much needed income into the county by housing prisoners from other counties, which Buice refused to do until the very end of his tenure. I don't recall any employee of Larry's ever saying he threatened them or told them to do questionable things which were not totally legal. So call it a little bitty fit, because when you compare his demeanor to that of Buice -- Larry wins.

I am aware of this neighborhood. There have been several of us in this surrounding area that have made complaints about this house for the last two years! It took a complaint from a criminal to find out these homeowers are criminals!

Just buy a good security system. Smith and Wesson make several good models that will guarantee the criminal won't return. Others include Colt, Dan Wesson, Ruger, and Charter. But there are many other models that will be as effective at a lower price. Used ones work just as well as new ones too but be sure you give them a good operational checkout before the purchase. I would recommend at least a 357 model as minimum but, bigger is better. After all, you do want the security device to be 100% effective. These devices are proven effective against multiple engagements provided you are familiar with your chosen security protection. Warning: Criminal clean-up is necessary after use and will require law enforcement and coroner notification.
