I was shocked – shocked, I say – Friday night when the once proud Mary Persons Bulldogs hid behind their lightning detector and some ridiculous GHSA rules to steal a win from the Lamar County Trojans in Forsyth.

Some low class moves by once proud MP

First the disgusting video followed by the poor handling of the Varsity game but then M.P. added to the insults, poor sportsmanship and lack of leadership! The following Wednesday, Lamar County Middle School team played M.P. on a gorgeous sunny afternoon. The M.P. coach came onto the field after the teams were lined up for a kickoff, stopped play and announced to the players and spectators that he needed to find a lightening meter ( I can only assume he thought he was being humorous). I think M.P. needs to take a serious stance of cleaning up their players, coaches and anyone involved with their athletic department. They also might need to look into their academics after viewing the video. Sure everyone is giving the excuse that all schools have some bad apples but it is starting to look like it might be the entire tree and roots! I hope they clean house before we meet them again on the field.

I am not sure and I was not there but it seems to me like he might have been making fun of that ridiculous move by the varsity coaches also. Let's move on, it's better for the kids that we just leave it alone...
