Parents and family should be loud and excited this is a time in their lives to be proud of there children and fellow classmates. I cant believe the county thinks that they was gonna be able to keep people quit. Screw that.Congrats to the Class of 2009
Just one last lesson for the class of 09: You don't have to respect anything because nothing is sacred. You can do whatever you want whenever you want to. Our culture is dwindling folks. I don't blame the parents because you have to have some class to pass it on.

Overheard during the days when Russia was actually a threat to cremate the U.S. It went something like this... "Russia will witness the destruction of the U.S., and they will never have to fire a shot. The U.S. will self-destruct as a nation because of a decay in their culture, and a loss of their moral values." aka' the 'Cold War' reference for the historians of the world.
Might not be Russia that is a threat. Maybe Iraq, or North Korea. Who knows? But, the point is well-taken about the decline in moral values and respect, which impacts political and economic ideologies. There's no questioning the fact that this country has regressed to practically a barbaric state. It shows in today's culture, and a society that could G-A-S about anything, anymore...
I just can't believe our society has gotten to be as rude and disrepectful as it has. I missed the calling of several names because of the hooping and hollering, not to mention the people just talking and using cell phones during the ceremony. We had some guest from out of town with us and they just couldn't believe how people acted. All the kids that graduated deserved to have their names heard but thanks to a few that didn't happen.

So, basically what you're telling those that weren't there, is that the administration didn't enforce the guidelines that they set forth for the event. If that is indeed the case, then look for more of the same next year, if not worse...
did anyone get escorted out by the BPD or LCSO? just curios, i didnt attend.

Didn't attend, and haven't heard anybody say that anyone was escorted from the premises for not complying with the guidelines that was set forth by the administration.
If nothing else, some of the perpetrators should have been escorted out for the rest of those in attendance to witness. They should have been made examples of... Chaos would probably have followed, however. By not having done that, then the guidelines that were set forth were just a bluff, and impotent at best, and obviously not very effective.
Apparently this nonsense isn't going to be stopped... It would be a shame to deny those that act civil the opportunity to go through the graduation exercise, due to a small percentage of violators. So two things come to mind as solutions to the problem. One - enforce the guidelines that have been established to keep order in the venue. Or two, take the privilege of having a graduation exercise away, and mail the diplomas out to those that qualified...
If the situation boiled down to this last resort, then I'd bet that the crowd would police themselves to keep from losing what has long been a tradition in the passage of rites from school days to the real world. And, people wonder why the government schools are in the shape that they're in... Well, maybe they don't wonder. Maybe they know.
they showed on channel 2 news sunday evening in atlanta police escorted people out of graduation who did not respect the request as same as LCCH put out.
it was funny. but it riduculos. i see both points.
yeah, thats really sad. i thought it added alot of character to the town. it gave so much energy to the city on the Friday Night Lights. ill miss having the statium downtown.
The addresses were fantastic,if they could have been heard.Didnt mind the clapping and hollering while the class was called, but the crowd could have showed more respect for the students giving the speeches. that being said, i would like to offer some advice to the facaulty that run the stadium. Its a nice place to move to for the games but the sound system needs some work.It would help if you would school those using the system to get closer to the mics, and it would help to turn the sound up. with that i will close with CONGRATS CLASS OF 2009.
I agree with some of the other people on here ... the class of '09 is a bunch of sorry punks, bunh of stupid JAs -let you figure out what JA stands for...lol
There is a difference in clapping/applauding for someone and all the foolishness that goes on. The majority of it was one ethnic group. Anyone want to take a wild guess. I knew there would be clapping and all that but there is a point like mentioned up above me somewhere, to where it is just outrageous. Congrats to all graduates, hope some of you dont follow in your ignorant families footsteps.
Are you ready? Tornado and Hurricane. Barack Obama is bad news. Is Obama bad for business? Foreclosed homes. No job, no school, no money, no build, no food, and no help.
I know who you are now so you need to go clean up or something and leave me alone...lol! And besides this is the first time I have posted on here in at least a week or so!
yall must be busy up there. Ill make a phone call to " your boss" the one we saw the other week and see if i cant get some fire under you. Get you to pick up the pace a little bit.
He is not here today but I will let him know you have a complaint... although he is not my boss I am sure we can find somebody for him to make mad... he seems to do that alot! HaHa!
The picture was funny I must admit. I am sure Walter didn't intend for it to read "Ass of 09" but it was funny none the less. I enjoyed graduation, the clapping, and yelling wasn't so bad. But when the 2 or so people used air horns, that I could have lived without. But all in all I think it was a great graduation. Way to go Class of 2009.
I agree with most of #12. Supposedly the school didn't tell the city anything about the "no hollerin'" rule. Barnesville doesn't have an ordinance against it so it couldn't be enforced. But Thomaston does, and the fine is about $350 bucks! But I think it's an unconstitutional ordinance. Just my two cents worth.
ok people... graduations cant be perfect and I think the class of '08 should have deserved better than what they recieved as a ceremony. Hooping and hollering is disrespectful but getting rained on bc of a few terrible decisions is so much worse. The class of '09 had a perfect, sunny graduation so get over the excitement from family and friends. The class of '08 couldnt distinguish their tears from the downpour of rain.
