Former Barnesville municipal judge Henry Abreu has been deemed unfit to stand trial and unfit to assist his legal counsel following a court-ordered mental evaluation.
Following a lengthy probation revocation hearing that delayed grand jury proceedings Monday, Judge Tommy Wilson ordered Abreu held at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville for 90 days or until he is deemed fit to stand trial.

What a ruling!
where the hell is my refund!!
Wilson must owe him one... or two..or three....
If this was an average joe, they would be incarcerated not in the happy hospital…
He dancing to the looney Tune............
S.G. you could learn a lot from my classy R.T.
I was just curious, is he still in jail?
I haven't heard anything about the case – or him – since.
SFE
fry was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. he was imprisoned on july 21, 1983 and released on parole on august 19, 1991 - not exactly life, eh?
he did the majority of his prison stretch at rutledge state prison. i am sure there are others out there who can (and, no doubt will) enlighten us further.
Perhaps election day will give him some comeupance.
hospital...um..hum..uh.I like the way he talks himself outta trouble..um..hum..somebody over here at the nervous hospital will oblige Henry if he makes an offer like he did to the girl at Heritage Inn...um..hum..maybe he will brang some biscuits and mustard..um..hum..I gotta new mower blade I'd like to show Henry...um..hum
Second, Abreu has been doing dishonest things for a very long time. This is not even the first town he has been in trouble in. What finally happened is his connected buddies could no longer keep him from getting busted.
This is the slowest town with the slowest judge. It took us the longest to figure him out but that is because he fit in with his friends that we haven't figured out.
What do you think it would read? I love comics.
The poster who likened him to Brer Rabbit said it the best. Go ahead, throw him in the briar patch and watch what happens! Abreu's a slick one.. He's so slick, he slid right away from the most serious charges that would send the average joe to prison for the majority of his natural born life. (Remember the little girls he was providing alcohol for, in exchange for sexual favors? Busted by the vice squad, and he managed to escape those charges, or at least get a slap on the wrist for reduced charges.)
I just wonder who the next high-up official is gonna be that's caught up in the next scandal. (And, I'd wager that Walter wonders the same thing.)
It's a sad world we live in today, folks... America is barely a shadow of her former self.
Isaiah chapters 5 & 13 seem to be coming true - these are the days when evil is being called good, and good is evil. It's just a matter of time - a very short period of time - that Jesus comes back for those who've chosen Him as Savior. God help us.
Did he have a medical problem come up?
Does he have any alcohol or substance abuse issues?
The contrast between a guy who was in Heritage Inn for a period of time, and a man who was out in the public selling pool tables afterwards is interesting to me.
Is this man sick, is he playing the system, is he a shyster?
This entire story is just slightly odd.
BTW..Why did the female employee at Heritage Inn give the creep her cell phone number,
AND...why in the world would she entertain a SINGLE call from Henry in light of his known actions at the Inn? STRANGE!!!
I am only saying the same, I knew him when. I am a law abiding citizen and I only hope that the good, the bad, and the ugly all get justice.Yes, politics in small towns can be evil and corrupt.
I do not defend any of his lawless acts, I just wonder why his life turned around. He has shown and trained some of the best horses that have ever trotted into a show ring.He had some very distinguished customers, try a Walmart Walton for one.I took a filly to him and after 60 days he told me that she wasn't going to make it as a halter horse, so we sold her as a pleasure prospect and I got a good price for her. He could have done like alot of trainers have done us and kept taking out training money and pushing for more to haul and show that filly. We would have listened. We aren't stupid people,he was good and if any quarter horse people that showed in Georgia during the 80's and 90's tell you that he wasn't one of the best at fitting and conditioning halter horses then he probably whipped their butts in the show ring too many times.
I don't know what turned his life around to come to all of this but I know this, I will pray for him and all of those whose lives were damaged by his actions but you barnesvillians need to ease up on all of your condemnation of your local government. If you don't like whats going on then make a change. Do something positive. I would either quit the whining or move.I have visited Barnesville several times and I don't see what the big attraction is anyway. I think the farms and countryside are beautiful but what else is there? And now that Henry is shipped off what else is there for everyone to talk about? Talk about what's going on in Washington, I spend every waking minute wondering what new circus act will evolve from the big white tent.
If you don't like what I say then don't read my comments. I had my nose fixed in 1972, thankyou.Maybe you should get your IQ fixed.
There is no need to be rude to Sandra, we're having a discussion here and we can all agree to disagree, if we wish. Ugly language and comments are the weapons of small minds.
Sandra has every right to look at this website and comment on the threads.
That's why my father was a Marine, and that's why my daughter is in the Navy, so that we can all exercise our right to speak our minds.
And we're all grown up enough to speak like adults here.
Going to the mental institution is the best thing that could happen to him, and I really hope they do treat him because he needs it. Maybe it would make a difference to you if you knew the family or health issues he was facing (which would make anybody crazy), but you are all so rude and heartless I doubt you would care even then. You just want to go talking shit about a person you know nothing about.
So do us all a favor and grow up and stop complaining about things you can do nothing about and maybe use that energy for something productive!
Based on this information He did, and Judge Wilson Danced for him.
The Judge forgot he had been to rehab before.
Hmmmmmmmmmm
