One man was seriously injured in a traffic accident this morning at the ever-dangerous intersection of Highway 41 north and the Highway 36 bypass. A gray, four-door sedan hit a guardrail which nearly ripped its top off.

A medical evacuation helicopter was called to the scene for the driver, identified as 29-year-old Jarrod Trice of Milner, but his condition worsened rapidly and he was rushed to a Griffin hospital. He is now in critical condition at Atlanta Medical Center where he is expected to undergo surgery Saturday morning..

I apolojized to the Muslims. I have told them the U.S. is not a christian nation, we are Muslim now. This man can get away with anything. He hit my parents (while on probation) damaging their truck and destroying their camper. He had been drinking and crossed the middle line. How can someone on probation not go to jail after this and now he has done even more.

Thanks for asking, Kate. His neck surgery went well, however the neurosurgeon stated that the injuries he sustained were quite extensive, and he did not expect any recovery in movement in his right hand or legs. We are praying for God to do what doctors cannot.

Maybe this is a wake up call for him. My prayers are with him and all of you in the family. These situations are dramatizing no matter the history of a person. He is still a son, grandson, nephew, and friend to someone.
Has there been any info as to what happened. Ive went by there numerous times since the accident and i cannot find the first skid mark. I didnt get out of my vehicle but i just dont see anything. Was there some sort of malfunction with the car or did he go to sleep or what.
Rumors will continue to fly but im just curious of the truth.

Well i was trying to be nice and considerate of the whole situtaion. Id does concearn me. Im a tax payer and my money that i pay into the system here in Lamar county was used in the rescue attempt that went on. If you dont want anyone asking questions about the situation you should call the hearald gazette and request that this page be removed or atleast the comments be cut off so that no one can post up here. This issue isnt about me. Why would i need to post my name. I may be in a position here in barnesville/lamar county to where it is better off me remaining anonymous in these blogs for the fear of my career.Im a concearned citizen that hopes that Jarrod recovers 100%. That is the bottom line. Surely the Ga state troopers have consulted the family to give some sort of explanation as to what went on causing the accident or maybe a witness or something. Im just inquiring about that. There are wrecks that happen every week on here and people always inquire the sequence of events that took place right before impact. Its just human nature to be curious about it.
Just say that "the family doesnt wish to give specific details about the wreck" and let that be it. Getting smart with people on here isnt gonna get you anywhere.
"Aunt Angie" i think Jarrod is in most everyones prayers. I think everyone has been pretty positive about everything except the person that mistaken this blog for henry abreu topic.

I do understand your curiosity, and am not offended by it, but please understand that quite naturally, we are very protective of Jarrod in his very vulnerable condition. To address your question, we have not even talked to the Sheriff's department concerning the accident, or even received a copy of the accident report because no one is in town to request one. We are at the hospital almost around the clock. While everything is speculation at this point, it appears he fell asleep, and never hit the brakes before the impact. For us, the only thing that we can focus on is keeping Jarrod alive and learning to deal with his life changing injuries. Your prayers are truly appreciated. Beverly B. Trice, mother

Jarrod, I know you probably won't get this message but I just want you to know that your Aunt Iris is very upset to learn of your demise the first of this week. I had been asking Nathan about you for months because I wanted you to join us for Christmas. I was very excited about your pending release and that you might be able to come. I had also been working a very interesting genealogy report as part of your Christmas but I was lied to for months because the Blackmon's asked him to lie to us (according to Nathan). Everyone here loves you, Jarrod, and is praying for you to be well. Your family has set barriers so that we can not see you or contact you. But God knows our hearts and that we love you. I am not angry with your family, Jarrod. Some of my family is but I am speaking God's Word to them to keep their peace, make right with God, and wait on Him. I just want peace and what's best for you, our dear long lost son. We all have said things in our missing you that we regret (and I am sorry about that) but we just love you so much. We were so happy when you returned to us at age 18. You may not know this but my heart jumped for joy! Now, it seems we have lost you again because we can not get to you without confrontation.
