Chamber golf tourney is Wednesday
The chamber of commerce will host its third annual golf tournament June 17 at Morgan Dairy Golf Club. Local attorney Bill Lindsey, a Civil War re-enactor, will fire his cannon to begin the tournament at 1 p.m.

I love to hear cannon fire! I remember one year the Trojans had a cannon at a playoff game at Summers Field against Jeff Davis High. Everytime the Trojans scored they fired that rascal. The Trojans scored 57 points that night so the booms were rocking B'ville all night long!

I played in this last year. I thought there was a cannon out there last year on hole #1. But, I looked and it was Mr. Bishop hitting his driver.

I was on the al-fore-mentioned players team. The most noise his drives made was when they crashed into trees or the silo out there. I'm sorry to tell the truth, because I like him personally.

I hope is out there today. It is always great to see him and he makes the tourney, its similiar to when Tiger shows up to play at PGA tourneys.

He usually has a large gallery following him around and can become distracting to other golfers. But it is worth it to just have him there.

He couldn't play today in the Chamber event, he was playing his warm up round at Beth Page Black.

I was thinking Tommy Buff's team probably would win it. He is close to that Butler boy's game out on the links.
