What are they referring to as a "license" to do work on homes? A simple business license? I am not aware of any requirement or availability of a state license to do such work. ...Good intentions, but vauge article.

Go to the Secretary of State web site under General Contractors. Became law in State of Georgia July 1, 2008

oh thank the lord we have the wonderful government to take care of us. what would we do without the government? i planted a garden and my corn did not grow. i wonder if i can get my money back for the seeds? the government should have made sure that i knew what i was doing before planting a garden. maybe the government can send someone to my house and look after my garden

I was scammed by someone and of course it was my own stupidity to deal with someone who was not licensed, but he lied.....Just beware is what they are saying.

It is just this type of legistration that ultimately requires a county like ours to spend over $5,000,000.00 on a football field, as it limits fair market competition.

Hey I guess it’s a good law for those who have the license, since it gives them the legal right to rip-off those folks who don't have one. Hasn't anyone played Monopoly?
