WOW, why does it always have to be so EXPENSIVE? Most families cannot afford to pay $20 just for admission and then be charged for concessions as well. Even if the economy and unemployment were not in such an ugly state of affairs right now .. this, to me is rather EXPENSIVE.
Do you realize what all your family can do for $20? It is not just fireworks! This is a real deal. Try taking your family to a fair for $20 and see how much you get to do.
Get outta here. $20 per vehicle? $30 for a bus? You are ungrateful and inconsiderate. You need to read this again. You would have to go back 20 years to find a deal like this. It is a Christian family, but they do have expenses.
I understand that everyone has expensec, but you do not need to go back 20 years for a deal like this. Stone Mountain park has a great display and parking is only $10 per car.
For someone who does not know me, you are way out of line in your name calling.I am entitled to my opinion the same as you but your accusations are rather childish and uncalled for.
I do not see charging so much to park being a good deal and I will stick to my opinion on that. Yes, it includes seeing fireworks and wandering around to look at a pupet show and other items if you are interested. It has nothing to do with someone's religion or lack there of.
Excuse me please! Please accept my apologies from the bottom of my heart. I was just expecting many positive comments. I went into shock. I am a rude, ruthless, uncaring Bitch. I hate myself. All I said about the family is that they are Christians. Is it ok with you? Can they be Christians? The Chick Filet cow (eat-more-chicken) commercial is filmed there.
This is only $20 per vehicle and there are so many things to do there. If you have 5 people in your car, that's only $4.00 per person for a night of fun. And capped off with fireworks.
It sounds wonderful!
what is it with these religous folks, first they said halloween is evil so they have these so called fall parties or what ever they call it now they are having celebrate american on the 27Th of june instead of the fourth of July when your supposed to celebrate it.
calling someone "ungrateful and inconsiderate" just because you dont agree with them is the christian way?.why should i expect anything different.
I think the some of the scheduling is so that the massive number of people it takes to do this event can be with their families on July 4th. Most of the people that work the event volunteer so this allows them to spend the 4th with their families. Plus we get to see fireworks twice for July 4th! :)
Whats up with all these NON-religious folks these days. Back years ago non believers respected the believers because they saw something in them that was different than the rest of the world. Now you get bashed for being a Christian or a church go'er. Churches were full all across the U.S the last few weeks of 1999. Why is this? Why, when someone is in a life or death situation that most of them call on MY JESUS. If all of the ppl that bash the Christian religion and didnt believe why would they call on God when things hit the fan for them.
I encourage you ppl (belivers and non believers) find a good church with some good preaching and feel free to respectfully ask questions to the pastor or decons of the church. Ive had questions and also havnt done the right things all the time. I strive daily not to be like i used to be.
Feel free to join us at First Assembly of Barnesville just past the highschool on HWY 18 on the hill. Pastor Mic Savage will be preaching the gospel.
I think the second part of your message was well-stated. There are not many churches or Christians that invite non-believers (or those teetering on belief, or questioning their belief) to ask questions about their faith. Many non-believers struggle with faith for very personal reasons, and it is so important that the church be open to them to answer their questions about faith, God, and sometimes even the failings of the church and christians (note I did not say the failings of God.). Any church that is open to doing that for anyone is truly a great one and I hope that someone may take comfort in finding such a place of acceptance.
as far as halloween sure ppl from every walk of life participate in the trick-or-treating but as far as the original meaning, probably hardly anyone believes it. Read for yourself.

In my Christian faith, why would i believe that the boundary between the living and the deceased dissolved, and the dead become dangerous for the living by causing problems such as sickness or damaged crops because of this day called halloween.
A fireworks show is rather expensive itself and I'm guessing that the majority of the parking fee is to offset that cost. The ranch does a lot bringing activities and events to the adults and children of the surrounding communities, but I have yet to see them go out and force anyone to come to them. Therefore, the answer is quite simple. Go or don't go. While you are making a decision, consider this. The fireworks display is high up in the sky so you will be able to see the show regardless of if you pay 20 dollars or not. So if you opt to take in the show from afar, remember who brought it to you and tell the kids who is providing it. In the few days following the show perhaps you could call the ranch and thank them for the wonderful show that you viewed from a distance but were regrettably unable to attend because of the cost. (Nothing disrespectful meant because we all know that $20 means a lot to some families these days and the ranch knows that too) I bet the people at the ranch will appreciate that thank you equally as well.
It's for profit like everything else that is done there. Many of us in th ecommuntiy cannot afford that kind of extravagant outting now so we will not be attending. It would not be quite so bad if using the $20 parking fee towards food for the children instead. But knowing that you have to pay that and then listen to them beg for food from vendors when you simply cannot afford it makes for a not so fun outting :(
May I offer another suggestion to you? Get on the telephone and call the ranch and ask them to explain the $20 parking fee and how it will be utilized. I think they would take the time to explain it to you and I bet there will be zero profit and there will in fact be out of pocket expenses for the ranch.
Secondly, in my opinion you are rude and stubborn and a major part of things gone wrong in America. You apparently think everything should be given to you free of charge. And, if not free, you will complain about it. I’m sure I’ll get murdered over this comment but the complaint department is in the White House now. That’s where you’ll find those in charge of freebies and handout promises. Complain there!
They should pay for the advertising instead of it being deemed a 'news story'.
Nobody asked for anything 'free' but since you mentioned it ... that would make it a more community friendly event where people could afford to spend their money on the food at the event. And that would make it seem more newsworthy to me.
It appears that someone needs to get a life outside of badgering people for their opinions on the newspaper message boards???

You people from the Anonymous tribe are actually quite pitiful. The reason your opinion does not count is because you don't even know who you are? Are you ashamed of yourself? Your family? Are you afraid to speak up by name? Do you have Alzheimer's and really do not know who you are?
Are you a real bastard and unaware of your true name? If so just sign in as "whose yo' daddy."
Then we can distinguish you from the rest of the tribe. Meanwhile, all you Anonymous folks will continue to be like Dry Paint Signs, you serve no real purpose, you are insignificant to the world...but good for an occasional laugh. Bye now.
I don't understand why some people want to take an event that is supposed to be fun for the children, and nitpick and whine and complain about the price.
I'm willing to wager that the folks complaining the loudest make sure they have their $8.00 pack of cigarettes handy, even if they can't seem to do anything fun with the kids.
Just stay home in front of the TV, then.

Thanks for being the voice of reason out here.
Enjoy your Independence Day!
