Lt. Chris Webster of the L.C.S.O. is in ICU at Spalding Regional Medical Center after being bitten once on each foot by a copperhead.
Webster had stopped to look at the unusually marked snake on Roberta Drive near the Wetlands Trial Monday evening when he was bitten. He is receiving anti-venom treatments.
Chris is the son of John and Maureen Webster of Barnesville. His wife, Tasha, is longtime office manager/circulation director at The Herald Gazette.
An elderly woman from Hwy. 18 in Lamar was also bitten by a copperhead Sunday so be on the lookout for snakes.
Prayers for Chris and his family will be appreciated.
UPDATE: Chris has done some walking. He hopes to leave ICU today and maybe come home Thursday. In the meantime, a hot water heater burst and flooded their home. When it rains, it pours.
