Sheriff Brad White supplied this photo of the truck thought to be involved in the theft of the Trojan grill from Summers Field.
This image came from security cameras and captured the truck in the area during daylight hours prior to the theft. It is thought to be an extended cab Chevy 1500, perhaps gray or silver in color.
If you recognize the truck, contact law enforcement.
Yes indeed! Sherlock was right. The grainy photo of the big ol' Chevy truck with shiny wheels is a clue and will lead to the capture of the stupid sneak thief. Owing to the vast circulation of The Herald Gazette newspaper coupled with their online presence, the owner of that Chevy beauty should hope and pray the following people don't recognize his getaway truck: a salesperson at the car/truck dealership where purchased, service stations where he gasses up, schools where the kiddies are dropped off, co-workers, ex-spouses, restaurants, friends, relatives and neighbors. Don't forget people like to post on YouTube and Facebook. It's hard to pay a HUGE truck payment sitting in jail.
Do the right thing!...pull the Trojan Grill away from it's place of concealment and call the school to "come and git it". Sheriff Brad White will also take your call. I'll bet a dollar to a donut that someone will "DROP A DIME" and ruin your day. It's not too late.
Security camera surveillance is a great tool. Citizens with security systems can check their DVR backups to see if the truck movement was captured as it sped by pulling a large black greasy grated grill on wheels. Not a common sight on the Lamar County roads. I checked my DVR and all I saw that night were two deer, three raccoons, 2 foxes and a tall guy driving a grey BMW who often takes his "rental girlfriend" to park at the end of my road. They, uh...uh.. were discussing the upcoming election from the large back seat. It's amazing how much one can see with a good night vison camera system and night vision goggles. Understand, I quickly powered down my NV unit when the couple began to discuss local politics! If you are wondering. Yeah, I read lips too.

As they say, "film at eleven". Stupid people never learn!
BTW: since you are interested, I can provide the BMW's vanity license plate in case you need a recommendation on how to "vote".
