Although signage on its building at the corner of Taylor Street and College Drive in Barnesville indicates OB's BBQ is just closed for the holiday weekend, there are numerous indications the business has closed for good.

My daughter has been employed by OB's for the last 2 years and was informed on Tuesday night the they were closing the doors. So it is true they have closed for good and they are not renovating. My daughter was given her final pay in cash on Wednesday.

If this is true it will be a great loss to Barnesville,
Their chicken strips were the best in town and their fries were amazing.

whats the deal with Bar-b-q in lamar county?first yall had rudys nasty stuff then ob's can't anybody cook real bar-b-q- in this county?

we need a zaxbys.. dang big chic.
We dont need OBs prices to jump up 40% like big chics do every 6 months. You would think we live in alpharetta as high as some of these food prices are around here. Average income in this area is probably 20-25k a year yet we compete with $10 order of buffalo strips as if we live in an area where the income level is 80k on an average.
I make a good deal more than the average but im not too keen on paying these outrageous prices on food.

bic chic in barnesville is way higher then bic chic in thomaston. and the food is better in thomaston. i prefer shane's chic tenders.

well Rudys was cause all the junk was stolen and being run by crackheads.... per capital we have the most BBQ places in the state lol and all ridiculous in price. but gots to pay that mortgage right

OB's was not very good at all and yeah big chick is way to proud of that food, 8 bucks for 3 strips and tea is highway robbery. I prefer shanes good food and the best strips in town

We need a Simmon's Smokehouse. I heard their son is in Lamar county now, the dad closed the shop on Hwy 16. If youve ever had their brunswick stew, it was outta this world!! And they know how to smoke some que!

if you are worried about the high prices you need to check out Ga South BBQ. they got real smoaked bbq for a great pice. located at 102 Main Street. give them a call 770 358 0024

I don't know about all this talk, but I am pissed off that the big, beautiful, historic tree was cut down on Thomaston St. I think the city should have stopped this since it is part of the historic district.

Are you the owner of that tree? I don't think so. The city doesn't own it either...the owners have the right to cut it down if they want to......mind your own business. If you wanted to save the tree, you should have forked over the money to own that big, beautiful house.....

#14 this is #13. I agree with you. I was just making a point that government always wants to tell us what to do with our property. Your response is what I was hoping to get. I do feel that the city of barnesville has over reached in telling property owners what they must do with property from who and how many can live there to what kind of trees we must plant. I developed a commercial property and did not want to plant many trees but they made me plant a certain number and size. I perfer just sod and two maple trees.

The reason OB's closed is they cut that big Magnolia tree down.

I heard that aBQ place is going up in Milner.
