Lamar County sheriff Larry Waller remains in the Macon Medical Center where he is receiving treatment after suffering a possible stroke July 8.

Lisa Goddard of Little Children of the World (LCOW), the charitable agency run by the sheriff's wife Glenna Waller, reported Thursday morning that Larry Waller may not be released for at least another 48 hours.

I would like to wish Mr. Waller a speedy recovery. He's doing a great job as sheriff, and I hate to hear that he's having health problems. Get well soon Mr. Waller!

For some reason if the sheriff was unable to finish his term. The major would become sheriff until a special election could be held. Then enter the great Joe Buice once again.

I will be praying for Sheriff Waller's speedy recovery! I agree that he is doing a great job as sheriff! He is just what we needed in Lamar County!!! Get well soon!!!!

Blood test? Pain, coma, drug, cigarette smoking, cancer, brain attack or what? Larry Waller do not stay at the Sheriff's Office. Possible heart attack? Joe Buice is back.

I really think these types of comments should not be allowed. How could you not look past yourself and just see that this is a person, like you, who is suffering from an illness. Obviously you have no heart, if you can say things like this!

Sheriff Waller has done a outstanding job at cleaning up our community and has proven to be a GREAT sheriff. He is very approachable and never meets a stranger. I pray that he is well and back at the office as soon as possible.

Karma is a you know what! To all those who take pleasure in kicking a man when he is down, you surely shouldn't sleep well at night. Regardless of your opinion of him personally, it should not give you pleasure to see someone suffering so that it can benefit your agenda. I hope Sheriff Waller has a speedy recovery and I pray Ms. Glenna makes it home safely to tend to him. Get well soon!

as for the ones on here who insist on making derogitory remarks about the sheriff... you ought to be ashamed. honestly, how would you feel if it was your husband, father, brother, etc.? shameful! it is people like you who make lamar county look bad!

I went by the hospital this morning and was pleased to see Larry sitting up and able to talk. Please continue to pray for Larry and for his family as they are with him.

My prayers are also with Sheriff Waller and his family. I also agree he has done an outstanding job....I am so glad he is back. I have personally seen results in my street! Thank you, Thank you for being what Lamar County needs!

I visited with Sheriff Waller today. He was talking and feeling really well - anxious to get out and do his job. They had run a couple of tests on him and had one or two more to run later today. Our prayers are with Larry, Glenna and the family. God bless you all.

I personally think that if anything did happen that Major White would have a very good chance of sustaining office through a special election if one was called. He has been in the town since he was a teenager that I can recall and has pretty much grown up here. I do not recall him being apart of any scandals through the sheriff's department or any other law enforcement agency that he has been apart of. I think he would do a fine job as the chief law person in lamar county and the county would be better for it. I hope that one day soon he decides to run for office and he will win by a landslide.
