Honey was picked up by the city animal control at approx 2:00 Pm on Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home and was gased and killed at the Lamar County Animal Shelter within a couple of hours on the same day.
She had justed been spayed a few days ago and was seen all around CVS, Huddle House and the Funeral Home. No one knew where she came from but could tell she was lost, looking for her home and was very freindly.
I think it is a shame animal control did not even wait 24 hours for someone to claim her.
Also I thought gasing animals was out! They are suspose to give them a shot. I think the animal shelter should be checked out!!!
Can someone please check into the validity of this story? If this is true every animal owner in Barnesville should be worried because there is always a possibility of a pet escaping a house or fence.
This is true I spoke to the person who is in charge of the animal shelter myself and they confirmed this. The animal shelter susposedly had an epidemic of parvo so they gased all 15 dogs which were at the shelter. They knew about the parvo prior to picking Honey up so they should have closed the shelter and not picked up any more animals until the epidemic was resolved.
What happened to the guy that was working at the shelter? I believe his name is Josh. This probably wouldn't have happened if he had still been there. I believe I would have a lot of questions for the person "in charge" at the shelter if this had been my pet.
I cannot believe they would do that. You could tell this dog belonged to someone. I hope for their sake the owner didn't contact the shelter and for some reason they lied to her and said they didn't have her dog. That would start a whole bunch of problems.
Forget rabid foxes, the animal shelter will kill your dog faster and leave a deeper wound.
You people are absolutely ridiculous to murder that dog after only 3 hours. Disgusting....absolutely disgusting. I wish PETA would fine you the amount that Julie agrees is acceptable.
