The Lamar County courthouse, courthouse annex and all county offices will close today at 3 p.m. due to weather, according to county administrator Wayne Patterson.
Sheriff's deputies and agents of the Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at 147 Aldora Street Thursday afternoon. They found indications of methamphetamine manufacture and made five arrests.

Accused killer Teresa Mangham Burousas made an appearance in Pike County superior court Tuesday.
Burousas was scheduled to be arraigned but mumbled she had no plea when questioned by Judge Christopher Edwards. The judge then entered directed pleas of not guilty for her on counts of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.

he Barnesville-Lamar Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia (CFCG) that offers a semi-annual responsive grant program for 15 Central Georgia counties. CFCG received 30 applications from Central Georgia nonprofits during its Fall 2009 Responsive Grant Program. One application was from Ms. Angela Mack for the Lamar County Activity Center in Barnesville.
