A panel appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue to study streamlining Georgia's education system has recommended moving two-year colleges out of the control of the Board of Regents to the Department of Technical and Adult Education which runs the state's tech schools. [Full Story »]

Funeral services are tentatively set for Jan. 12 or 13 for Lamar County Primary School special education teacher Angie Tinker who was killed Jan. 4 in a two-car collision in Henry County.

Tinker, 55, of Zebulon died as a result of the crash that occurred at 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 20 and Westridge Parkway. She had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Atlanta Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. [Full Story »]

According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) about three in every ten Americans will be involved in an alcohol-related crash at some time in their lives.
