Deputies and other law enforcement personnel are scouring a thickly wooded area in northeast Lamar for a man who fled a traffic stop Sunday.
Reuben Cesar Burnett was stopped near the intersection of Bell and High Falls roads and found in possession of meth. Before he could be cuffed, Burnett fled into a wooded area. He was sighted multiple times Sunday and Monday by residents but searches with personnel and dogs have not turned him up.
Burnett, 34, is a black male six feet, eight inches tall. He has long criminal record and was just released from prison on an aggravated assault charge on June 28, 2016.
His past convictions include theft by deception, multiple counts of obstruction of officers, multiple firearms convictions, sale and distribution of cocaine, sale of meth, possession of cocaine, and four convictions for robbery by force dating back to 1998.
If you see Burnett, call 911 immediately.
UPDATE: Burnett is still at large. He has not been spotted lately and is thought to have left the Lamar County area, according to sheriff Brad White.
