At a probable cause hearing Dec. 7, Lamar County primary teacher Dianne Meade was charged with simple battery after a Nov. 22 incident at the school.

Cab driver shot, killed in Thomaston
A white female cab driver was shot and killed by unknown assailants early Wednesday, according to a news release from Thomaston police.
