The Milner police department has been awarded a public safety partnership grant totaling $10,000 from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety in Atlanta. The incentive grant, which will last through September of this year, is designed for smaller law enforcement agencies that have partnered with GOHS and excelled in taking part in highway safety initiatives and making their communities safe during the previous year.

In July, our 10 county region will vote on a Transportation SPLOST to approve a 1% sales tax to fund transportation projects within our region.
The Lamar County Transportation Committee will be hosting two town hall informational meetings and you are invited to participate. The meetings will be held April 19, 2012 and May 24, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the civic center.
