The roommate of murder victim Danavan Bussey testified Friday in Lamar superior court that he was sure the two men who burst into his home when his friend was killed were Lakievius Eleby and Shameik Spinks. Eleby is on trial here for murder.

The Lamar County commission is taking the heat for once again flubbing 2010 fire and ambulance fee bills. Several citizens spoke out against the re-billing of what was meant for only those who had not paid their fees. Instead, many people who received bills had already paid.

New turn lanes being constructed through Barnesville will not be complete for quite a while – so drivers need to continue to be careful in the work zone. It will be August or September before the roads are relined. New signals are scheduled to be in place by September or October. The final topping of asphalt should be applied in fall as well.
