About 35 parents of children in Lamar County recreation programs decided last week to push for more help with concession stands for the upcoming sports season.
Retiring president Brad Bryan told the group concession sales generate as much as $10,000 a year, designated solely to help the county recreation department offer team play in football, baseball, soccer and basketball. Members of the association vote on requests from the department and disburse the funds, he said.
