The Fury Futbol Club, based in Pike County, has three open slots on its select U13 boys' soccer team. The team, the only select team in the region, is for boys' who will enter the seventh grade this school year.
Emphasis will be on soccer skills training, playing as a team and going up against elite competition.

Two of three Lamar softball teams won first round games Thursday in Milledgeville.
UPDATE:The U8 Stars tied for third place in the tournament and won the Sportsmanship Award.
The U10 Stars were in a three-way tie for first place, resulting in pulling names of teams that had a bye for the championship game. Therefore, they are considered state runners-up. They received team and individual trophies.
