The Lamar County Trojans lost a heartbreaker to the Heard County Braves 18-17 tonight at Trojan Field. The loss heavily damaged hopes of hosting a first round playoff game at Trojan Field.

In homecoming festivities at halftime, Santae World was named homecoming queen for 2009. (video after the jump)

A cooked Boston Butt can be purchased from The Trojans Dugout Club by making a $25.00 donation to the Trojans Baseball Program. All proceeds will be utilized to provide the players & coaches with the best uniforms, equipment, & facilities available. Trojan Players, Coaches, & Dugout Club Members will begin accepting donations on Monday, Oct. the 19th.

A Trojan Player, or Dugout Club Member, will deliver the cooked butt(s) to patrons, if they are unable to pick them up. Cooking will begin on Wed., Nov. the 18th and will proceed thru Sat., Nov. the 21st. [Full Story »]

Come ‘Meet the Teams’

Fans will have a chance to help kick off the Gordon College basketball season with a “Meet the Teams Night” Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m.

The men’s team and the women’s club team will each play a short scrimmage with the cheerleaders and the SWAZI steppers performing at halftime. The event is free and open to the public.

“We’re looking at a good year with a lot of new players with solid high school experience,” said Israel Ingle, coach of the men’s and women’s teams. “We have three returning players as well as six players topping 6’5” or taller.” [Full Story »]
