Several Lamar countians took part in a sprint triathlon June 21 at Callaway Gardens. There were a total of 1,200 participants in the event, which included a two mile run, quarter mile swim and 10 mile bike ride.

The Diamond Trojans, after compiling a final season record of 19-7 -- and, making a State Playoff Appearance -- placed 3 players on the first team, 2 players on the second team, and one player was named as honorable mention. Seniors Blane Parker & Calvin Adams -- along with Junior Michael Sneed -- garnered first team honors, while Juniors Trent Nix & T.J. English landed on the second team. The Trojans exited the Class-AA State Baseball Playoffs in the first round on Friday with 10-0, and 11-1 losses at the expense of the powerful Region 6-AA Blessed Trinity Titans in Roswell, Ga.
