It saddens me that this picture was posted...the family had not even been notified. How would you feel if this was one of your loved ones or family members? Absolutly no consideration here. My prayers are with this man and his family,
Trenchers are very dangerous machines. They have the power to dig through the hard earth at a pretty fast clip. They are also hard to control because if they hit a rock they can jump. I sure feel sorry for anyone who gets caught by the teeth. Making it worse is all the dirt. I hope he is OK long term.
Susie-Q. The media has always has published photos of accidents and always will. No one is going to be traumatized by a photo like that.
What scares me is WG's picture on the opinion page. That's traumatizing! Don't see you complaining about that.
I am very thankful the man will be OK. This could have had a different and tragic outcome.
Anytime you walk away with your life, it's a good day. ( This became my mantra after my brother died.)
I wish the media would get their facts straight before they post stories on the web and newspaper. It was not a trenching machine the injured him. It was a cover up machine that covers exposed trenches dug for irrigation lines. The machine belonged to him personally. He was demonstrating how the machine worked out of the kindness of his heart for this project at the college. This happened to be a good friend of mine and he is recovering well, considering the injuries he sustained. However, it will be a slow recovery. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. May God bless you.

You're wrong? Not first responders. 3 firefighters/Emts, 5 Emts and 1 registered nurse.
