sad to hear that one of the best of BPD is gone, what a great man he was, may you rest in peace.
good news is that he was a born again christain who was strong about his faith
A true genleman. A valued and loyal friend to my son. Very professional and caring, always kept his head about him. He is missed. My sincere condolences to his loved ones.
Officer Jackson....
I found this poem(author unknown) and wanted to leave it on here for you. You can rest easy now, we'll take the watch from here. Thank you for your service.
The police officer stood and faced his God, which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek, To my church have you been true? The officer squared his shoulders and said "No, I guess I ain't, because those of us who wear a badge can't always be a Saint." I've had to work most Sundays and at times my talk is rough. And sometimes I've been violent, because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep...though I've worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place among the people here, They never wanted me around except to calm their fear. If you've a place here for me Lord it needn't be so grand, I never expected or had too much, but if you don't...I'll understand." There was a silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod, As the officer waited quietly for the judgement of his God. "Step forward now officer, You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell."
Marty, you were one in a million. One of the best to work with. We will miss you terribly and have your children and family in our hearts and prayers. Walk your beat in peace now...we love you
My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and three precious children and the rest of his family. I knew most of them personally and he comes from a very good family. He will surely be missed in Barnesville!
I did not know him but from one law enforcement family to another it deeply saddens me to hear about his passing away. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children. As the wife of a deputy I know what it's like to worry about the safety of your loved one when they leave for work but you never think that something will happen when they aren't at work. God be with them and may they be comforted in this time of sorrow.
Marty was a wonderful Dad. He loved the Lord, his children and his work. I love you Bubba

Bubba I want to tell u that u would be very proud of me for i really stood by your wife that u loved so much i forgave her for breaking your heart by leaving u and keeping u from seeing or talking to your children. Bubba I let it all go only for u and the kids, but Bubba im sorry I cant forgive her for letting her lover come to your burial and Im sooo very sorry you were disrespected along with the rest family ,but some people just dont have any class about them. Again Bubba im sorry and u were and always will be the better man and such a wonderful brother, father and son. RIP Jennifer
Marty, we love you and miss you so much. I know you would be so pleased with the wonderful things that are said of you. Those who know you and have read the comments know you were an awesome father and husband. I'm so sorry for your months of pain prior to your death, but I know you are safe now. I'm sorry that I was too busy to help you as you were going through such a hard time, but maybe now I can make that up to you. Your mother and father, and the rest of the family are so proud of you!!!
I hope you have proof that he was her lover because I hope you know that you are setting yourself up for a lawsuit for defamation of character from both this man and her.
I must be the first to apologize to Marty, Kelanie and family. People resond to grief in may ways, and I for one can say I've not reponded very well. One thing I know is peace brings peace, but striff and bitterness brings hatred. I do not want anything to do with hatred. All I want and all Marty would have wanted is peace. He went around apologizing to everyone, and I want to be like Marty. I apologize to everyone for starting this mess, and I pray ALL will stop. WE have all hurt enough. Take a few days to allow yourself to grieve, reflect, and pray.
With much regret, Aunt Janis
My Very Missed and Beloved Son
I'm sorry it's taken so long to get to you, today's the first day I've been able to function. You've made me the proudest of mothers. You set goals as a little boy (5 years old) and each one has been accomplished for beyond any ones means. You have left a legacy of a devoted and faithful husband, father, son, brother and friend and a loving child of God. You can be secure in knowing your sister and Lil brother will take up where you left off taking good care of me. You will never be disappointed in them I promise you that. Thank you for all of your years in protecting and loving me none of it will ever go unwasted. It's your time to rest now and let some one take care of you. You are where there is no pain, troubles, problems nor heartbreaks and it's for sure you deserve every second of that joy. I miss you so much and always will. but knowing you can't be hurt any more by any one or thing is something I'll be willing to sacrifice not seeing you and being with you (for a season). You are with God now there is no one better to be with. Hug your little brother or sister for me and when I get there you'll be able to show me which one it is (boy/girl). Don't worry about the babies Jesus has picked them up and is holding them in his arms. At the appointed time you will see them again and hold them in your arms too. It's time for me to go for now. I love and miss you some much! I'll meet you in due time.
Your loving mother for always,
love mother
