Four citizens turned out and none offered comment Sept. 1 as the Lamar County commission held a public hearing on its proposed budget.
Commission chairman Jay Matthews noted the $8.573 million budget had been cut by 3% from the budget requested by department heads. The budget is down 4% from the previous year.

i know what you can volunteer to do, and bet you want say your stupid comments to my face or youd have one less tooth. you only have three teeth so you should watch your smart mouth if you want to keep them.
i could care less about you or a volunteer, how bout take your begging boots somewhere else. my tax dollar already foots your bill and about once a month youre standing in the middle of town harrassing people and begging for money. if people pass by without throwing money in your boots you give us a look as like we could just "go to hell" or have some mumbling smart comment.
