Rain can't stop the Buggy

Despite afternoon showers and overhead clouds yesterday Buggy Days continued on.

At 2 p.m. hundreds of community residents and tourists alike lined the streets from College Drive to Forsyth Street and down Main Street to watch almost 100 floats and organizations in the annual Buggy Days parade.

As 3 p.m drew near a few sprinkles came from the sky and the faint of heart seemed to be packing up.

This is always a great parade, I love all of the floats. It is good to see that the rain didn't put a huge damper on the festivities. forextradingadvisory

yea right. they have been saying that crap since 2001 and it keeps on going down. I remember when those idiots put out fake bombs all over town and people were unsure about going. That was the beginning of Buggy Days going down hill.

and this years Darwin award goes to..............


the idiots that were grilling about 3ft from the gas pump across from Mcdonalds. They didnt want to rent a booth like civilized people so they just mosey right on over the tracks to the Marathon and fire up the grill beside the pump. The gas station owner should have a huge fine for allowing this and the people that actually did it should have terroristic charges threatened against them and they should have been cited a violation. This was so amazing to me, I had to take some pictures of it.
You arent supposed to smoke, use a cell phone, or re-enter your vehicle while pumping gas. Static charges could be fatal. These idiots had a 2ft flame going from the grill and was having a good ole time willing to kill 2,000 people to make 30 dollars selling hotdogs at the marathon.
Boy I tell ya.

Yes the crouds were large as always, but this year the event seemed dismal. I usually love to look at the craft vendors, but there was nothing much worth looking at this year.

Funny I come thru yesterday evening and there was some rednecks on a trailer bed with a dang couch and they were sitting at the parts store or whatever that is behind OB's... they was drinking and having them a good old time!

90 percent of the people will enjoy the day and make the best of a bad situation. The other 10 percent will always find things to complain about no matter what. So to the 90 percent I say Thanks for being happy and enjoyable. To the other 10 percent (you know who you are) I will also say thanks for expressing your miserable selves.

you should have been paying attention the past 15 years. This isnt anything new as far as a couch in the bed of a truck or on a trailer or whatever. Ive never done it but its comfortable im sure.
Grilling with a live flame around gas vapor.. thats a little different than rednecks drinking some beer in the back of a truck.

amen, brother.
I thought everything was great even with all the rain. I don't think the crowds were as big as usual but who could exspect it to be with 5 inches of rain.
