Dodge driving burglars in custody

Butts County deputies and other law enforcement officers have arrested two people driving a Dodge following a high speed chase. The chase started in Monroe County after a home invasion there October 13.

Good lord thank you praise him!!! I can sleep better now cause me and joe and myy brother marble was scared we somtimes have people rushing in our house but Joe gives them a hitching and they leave.

Highway 87 doesn't go to the Jackson city limits, thats 42, or US 23.

At least we have a good Sheriff who works with all the other good Sheriff's from the surrounding counties. Yes bet, from what I have heard and seen, we as a county are 100% better off.

I worked with Gene Pope back in the 80's. Not only is he a good law enforcement officer, he is a good person. Way to go, Enos!!!

He broke into houses and planted drugs at one house it was caught on tape, thank god for security cameras, this was at time of election, haha it didn't work!

I DO know that it was Deputy Jason Taylor that was off duty and driving home from the firing range when he saw the vehicle parked in a driveway, this was to be yet another burglary for them. Deputy Taylor turned into the driveway and the suspects took off, that's when it all began. I think this deputy needs to be recognized and commended for his heroism. He could have easily gone back home and enjoyed his day off, instead he went above and beyond and assisted the apprehension of 2 very sought after criminals!!

I agree, he needs to get a big pat on the back for that one. My husband is a deputy too and we have been following this story closely and he even pulled over a black dodge magnum a few weeks ago just to check it out. There were alot of law enforcement keeping an eye out for these guys, it was just that this one deputy was on his way home and say them. Luck and fate went hand in hand on this one. Good job Sheriff Pope!

Lots of illegal stuff going on in Butts Co. Screw that. I know better. I guess he is ok to work with or under depending on what side of the law you are on. If you arent apart of his team or another agency and they want to put something on you... consider it done.
This has been going on since the 90's i know. I havnt really heard anything recent but im 100% on things back then. Cant fool me. Butts Co. folks are just too old fashioned and dont want a change i guess. Or atleast no one is brave enough to give him a serious run for his money because of being scared of retaliation.
