I did not vote for the man, but he is now the president and does deserve the respect of the office. Bush didn't always get the respect deserved by the office he was appointed to, but that could be just a difference of opinions as well. I found most of the people that do the bashing both ways never even vote which is hilarious to me as well since they didn't voice their opinions in the first place, but fell like they should be heard now. I'm tired of this change motto crap. This is only one man....sorry, but one man can not and will not change all of your problems. There are too many checks and balances to keep one man from controlling everything. Half of the boobs in the house and senate don't agree with the president even when they party lines are the same. Good luck to the new president, but I honestly don't see any major changes being created anytime soon.
It is my belief that history will record President Bush's presidency as a success. We have not had to dodge airplanes and pull our loved ones out of demolished buildings. Sure he has made some mistakes and judging from our current presidents comments - I can only wonder which direction he is going to take us in. Time will tell. I do, however, wish him well. I think it is a little "off" to call President Bush "Mr. Dunce." Are you that brilliant?
My prayers and well wishes to the President. He has a huge task before him. He is a good speaker and has wonderful speech writers. I was particularly aroused by the citing of American soldiers who have fought and are fighting for our freedom. God bless America.
You represent the voice of many Americans, 'the truth'. For months now people have been under the assumption that because Obama is black he cruised right into office. None of us will know for sure.
However, do you not at all think that his policies, political agenda, charisma, youth, allegiance to nuclear families, etc. had anything to do with it? Do you not think that the sort of optimism he has shown these past few months is worthy of at least a shot?
If he was elected president because of his skin color then there must have been a dissatisfaction in America with a white president. You can't blame it on outsourcing, affirmative action, or any other of the usual suspects. You have to just accept that America, as a people, wanted something different so they turned out, voted, and obviously won.
Let get for real.....Obama did not make it into the oval office because he is black. The people (black, whites, young, old, gay, poor and rich) voted for him because they are ready for change and hope. Let's face it was the best candidate for the job. I hope we can stand together and support our new president.
so you are saying that youth and charisma are important factors in being the president of the united states? he was elected because of nothing more than the media loved him, they created him and they presented him as a "rock star",and it worked.
It is mostly luck that we have not had an attack (that we know of). We have virtually no port security, we have no border security at all. We have no way to trace anyone who creeps across our open borders. We have no real food security. We have no protection for anything we import, just look at the stuff the Chinese can put in our medicine, food, or toys. They were killing people with bad IV's during the summer.
We have never had a country so mismanaged since time began, yet a few sheep are lulled into thinking we have security. To claim we have not had more hijackings somehow proves Bush a great president or somehow proves we are secure is just silly. The two are entirely unrelated. It is like some fool claiming "I smoke ten packs a day and don't have cancer" proves cigarettes don't cause cancer.
It will be nice to have a president that tells the truth and who is smart enough to understand where we need to go and plan how to take us there.
God Bless America, we needed a real leader for a long time now! We finally seem to have that man.
I voted for Cynthia McKinney "she was on the California ballot" because I'm so dissatisfied with the current two dominant parties. People say they voted for Obama because he represented changed. The only change he represented was that of his skin tone. Think about it for a moment if you will...Who did he appoint to his administration? Exactly! Now you get it! It was people from previous administrations. Now does that represent change? If we Americans truly want change, we have to completely get rid of the current two dominate political parties and allow other parties to participate in every election. The Republicans and Democrats are like two brothers trying to out best the other but at the end of the day, they decide to unite together and divide the people amongst each other to keep their dominance in America's political system. Are you ready for change? I am!
OMG-when have blacks gotten ahead due to skin tone. . . Never. Wake Up. Race will always play a role for certain people and it's ashame. This is a racist country but the next generation is about to make some changes. I'm looking forward to it.
AND the Bush Administration represented disaster as you can tell from the outcome.
I see all of these comments regarding race and it's sad really.
If all you have to complain about is that Obama was only elected because he was black, then I really suggest you need to really take a good look at yourself. It's 2009 people.....WAKE UP!
Wow! Cynthia McKinney! That's a shock, but everyone has the right to vote for who they feel would be the best. Hell you can vote for youself. That's why the have the write in option on there.
I'm impressed by his hope, humility, intelligence and his willingness to reach out to others. I know he's only human (unless you are among those who believe he's the antichrist) but when you are able to handle yourself with so much thrown at you, most politicians can't hold a candle to him.
What exactly has been thrown at him? The liberal media just about has an orgasmn when they talk about him. Sarah Palin they went after and uncovered that she was in a bathing suit one time. Or her daughter is an un-wed mother....wow. Obama's momma was a hoe too, he is a bastard child. But my God you cant say nothing about him. Yes, you are part of the multitude that has been blinded and followed him so get ready for your mark!
The liberal media? If anything 'ghost' the liberal media has become completely frustrated with what they see. The president has begun to make steps toward a more conservative mindset.
Obama's parents were married when he was conceived and born. They divorced when he was 2. That does not make him a bastard. Good try though. I know you were searching hard to say something remotely derogatory.
You can say whatever you want about him. However, if you say wrong and somewhat ignorant things you have to be prepared to be shot down and corrected. That is just human nature.
I did not vote for him nor did i watch the inauguration on tv but i did hear several non supporters say that was the best speech they ever heard. Hope that is a sign of things to come. And yes i know he probably didnt wright it but he had to deliver it.

The truth of the matter is statistically
Obama's parents were married when he was conceived and born. They divorced when he was 2. That does not make him a bastard. Good try though. I know you were searching hard to say something remotely derogatory.
