The Lamar County Gridiron Club will run its 50-50 raffle again this week with the drawing to be held at halftime of the big Lamar Co.-North Oconee playoff game Friday at Summers Field.

Lamar County has always been like that. They find a way to justify its actions and doings but are two faced or contradict themselves when the students does the same thing just in a different scenario.
Gambling is the wagering of money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods. Typically, the outcome of the wager is evident within a short period.
Getting all holier than thou over what amounted to a $1 donation to the athletic club is stupid.
This has to do with gambling and it being against school policy along with poor decision making. The example it sets for the upcoming young people.
Im not saying that i dont buy a lottery ticket sometimes. The issue here is that the school punishes people for doing such activities on school campus or property but yet allows themselves to do it.
Im glad the Trojans are doing really well. Im tickled to death. I hope that the school sports continue to grow and prosper. Im just not 100% keen on the fact that there are double standards. Thats all.

If there is anything,kids learn from this ,it is that people are generous,and are willing to donate to a good cause.
