In a severe blow to his defense, motions filed by Morehouse College police chief Vernon Worthy in Lamar County superior court have been denied by Judge Tommy Wilson.

I don't believe Worth need to go to jail for this, but I would love to see him get a big time a** woopin. I say we tie Mr. Worth's his hands and legs, then let Rooks whail on him for a couple minutes. We could charge $ to see the fight and give all the proceeds to the Empty stock fun.
I should have been a judge.

I don’t believe Worthy thought he was in the wrong at the time of the incident. Though, I believe he is guilty of egotistical stupidity enacted on the wrong person, in the wrong place, at the wrong time. It’s probably not the first time he pulled this stunt, but may be his last. Three wrongs don’t make a right…….although….three rights make a left.

Just because he is a law enforcement officer doesn't mean he shouldn't receive jail time as he deserves the same justice as anyone else and he needs to have his P.O.S.T. Certification revoked, no if's and's or but's.

Nathaniel Rooks, his grandmother has passed away, Thursday November 26, 2009. And his grandparents has passed away, last year. he has a hunting license. No bank robbery. No shotting. No kidnapping. No lie. Vernon Worthy lies. Vernon Worthy need to go to jail.

They only be doing this to Mr Worthy cause he be black. If he be white then none of this would be happening. This not no race card it just facts and yall knows it. I bet Al can do something about this so I think I going to call him. If he come to town then he will change some of yalls bigot attitudes. Or maybe Devane can have one of them race fixing beer summits like Mr. Obama had and we can ends this injustice.

I do believe if found guilty he should never never wear a badge again and should pay restitution. Should he do time? I don't know without more specifics.

If the people of Lamar County think that this ruling has a devastating effect on this case, you are sadly mistaken. His attorney's are not gonna abide by the ruling of a white judge. They are going to file other motions in higher courts until this is heard by a black judge somewhere, who Worthy thinks will " GIVE A BROTHER A BREAK ". NEWSFLASH WORHTY: You may find a black judge, but I don't think you will get what you want. Right is Right and Wrong is Wrong! If you want to pull your pistol on people, STAY AT MOREHOUSE! Food for thought; you may want to consider retiring while you still may have the chance. Once you are found GUILTY, good-bye retirement and P.O.S.T. certification. Be smart, DO THE RIGHT THING!

I'm not sure he has a valid P.O.S.T. certification anymore...he is a campus cop at Morehouse. He was required to be P.O.S.T. certified at Atlanta, but that was quite a few years ago that he work with the APD

what bothers me is in every picture ive seen of worthy and his legal team they are SMILING! WTF !!!! When you do something wrong and you are near a courthouse you dont smile and say cheese for the camera.this goof-off really must not think he did anything wrong.im proud of nathaniel for standing up for himself and making sure that worthy is trialed for his wrongdoings!

That makes sense to me, Enoch.
I know Mr. Rooks had to be frightened having a gun held on him and being cursed at, but I think this may be a case of Mr. Worthy being a loud mouth blowhard who was mistaken in the way he handled the incident.
Perhaps a fine, some community service, and a loss of privileges with his gun may be in order.

That is a very good question that someone shouuld be asking and demanding answers. Maybe its the officer to officer buddy system or maybe not. We the public need answers why this man was not charged and Mr. Rooks had to persue this himself. Mr. Worothy deserves everything that is comming to him. Mr. Rooks your praying is obviously paying off. In an earlier statement if this were a white man pulling a gun on a black man the NAACP would be camped out her in Barnesville. Vengence in mine says the Lord. So no matter what his defense does or says he will reap what he sows and how he sows it. Sorry Mr. Worothy you may try the race card but God will have the final say. You have let your badge and gun write a ticket that you cant cash. You do the crime you do the time. So I know you understand the law or maybe you dont it is questionable at this time.

I think that you’re trying to say that Worthy is in trouble because he's black. So HE pulled a GUN on ANOTHER man and got HIMSELF in this situation. Please take a moment and in your best mill st. English tell everybody how this is NOT Worthy's fault.

There are lots of cases that are not charged when a cop does something wrong. It happens here there and everywhere. I was standing in my drive talking to a cop running radar and a off duty deputy from another county went screeming by 30 over the limit in his personal truck and the deputy would not give him a ticket.

i have to agree with stickman here. Worthy and his crew will keep flooding the system with frivolous motions until he gets a black judge and a black jury. But just like stickman said, "Right is right and wrong is wrong" and Worthy was in the wrong. Sure he's a mandated LE officer and in his mind he was acting as a LE officer at the time. But the way he handled the situation was wrong and that's what he's on trial for, not because he's black. Instead of wasting time and taxpayer money with all his legal nonsense why doesn't he try apologizing to Mr. Rooks? Rooks is the one charging him. Maybe if Worthy acted like a man and owned up to Rooks then Rooks might accept his apology and let the matter drop. It is Christmas after all.

It's called 'Professional Courtesy' but it usually doesn't extend to matters this serious. It's usually only good for speeding or parking violations, not incidents involving weapons.
