Its not a hospital, its medical offices, like the ones they already have on College Dr. But I agree with #2 it would be great if they made a wellness center part of the offices!
Anything is better than nothing but lots more vision needs to be put into this. It needs to be done right and to compliment Gordon with facilities and features that would attract people nation wide; specializing in specific care. In other words we don’t need a local small hospital-want-2-B. We need the icing on the cake.
People are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big cities. They are looking for tranquility away from, but close to the city, and Barnesville does fill the bill. We have a major medical university in its infancy that can become bigger than Mercer almost overnight. Medical professionals and college professors will love to move to Barnesville.
If we apply vision with common sense principals, root out the crime, improve our schools properly, and control growth in business and industry, we can make Barnesville/Lamar County the place to live in Georgia.
good place for a trauma center its very close to the widow maker intersection maybe a auto colision shop in the back one stop shopping williams is already there to get any mistakes lets get a lawer in the flower store
I quess the threat of a national healthcare plan is not detering these professions from expanding......maybe we can let everyone have insurance without the fear of doctors quiting and long lines to see dr....see, Obama can help and help our economy at the same time....God bles the liberals
In this recession what kinds of business are expanding? The profitable ones of course. Does this expansion tell you anything about the profits in the medical profession? Would love to see someone like Sam Walton(unfortunately deceased) start a healthcare system that would provide quality care at reasonable cost. Our politicians don't get it. The medical professionals and drug companies don't get it. Health care reform is not going to work. We need a health care revolution.
I wouldnt think so. Its hard for unemployed people to pay a doctor without health insurance. I suppose business is booming due to increase in Medicaid and Medicare recipients. Guaranteed payment.
Are you kidding? Upson County Medical is not opening an office here to provide free medical services. I'm guessing that there will be a sign at the receptin desk that says "Payment due at time of service".
WHY DO THEY NEED TO PROVIDE FREE SERVICES? I WORK IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD AND TRUST ME - we are not MAKING WHAT YOU THINK WE ARE. THE WHOLE FREE WORLD IS ON MEDICAID ANYWAY AND TO #8.1 THEY DON'T PAY SQUAT!

Perhaps this will mean more jobs in the county.
