The weather is impacting prices at the pump as demand for heating oil continues to increase amid forecasts for below-normal temperatures in the U.S. through mid-January.

That explanation was a good one from an economic standpoint but it doesn't seem to explain what is happening here in Barnesville. Everyone can see that Ingles intends to be a player in the gas business as their fuel is consistently cheaper than all other "filling stations." Most other outlets are twenty cents higher per gallon with the exception of B L, and Flash Foods. One individual has taken control of the majority of our supply by buying up competetors over the last several years. I remember one of the purchases being a little ruthless and rude. He has decided that he can now dictate the market and feels no need to be competetive. Who needs to make money on gas when the gambling machines are paying so well anyway. We have got to find our way out of the woods and stop predatory practices and practitioners.
Its a new Georgia sales tax.Thankyou Republicans.Makes since for you to raise taxes when we cant find a good paying JOB ANYWHERE NEAR HERE.tHEY WANT MORE MONEY MAKE THESE STUPID COMPANYS PAY A LIVEING WAGE.Not minume wage or what Icall slave wages.
You are on the right track Kenny. Republicans and their ilk are busy shoving all the problems of our economy and warring to the new President. I didn't vote for him either but I am not going to be a party to framing a debate just to regain the elusive power that they enjoyed for the last decade. Democrats are not together like republicans. The GOP hangs together while the Asses are splintered in their loyalties and desires. In my humble opinion, I don't blame Bush so much but the real corporate and military strength behind him. Damn, I almost sound like I grew up in the sixties. Watch network television at night. See Verizon and ATT fight about the 3G network that we don't know anything about. Watch Bank of America tell us about our daily lives and how they help, and the list goes on and on. We pay our financial existence out every month for cell phones, bank charges and fuel (auto and home) and that doesn't include beloved insurance that won't pay a damn dime if we need it. If they do happen to pay, they raise the rates to get it back. If we change companies, the new group is the beneficary of the raised rates. It goes on and on. We just might be slaves Kenny.
you bunch of commies "make these stuip companys pay a living wage"you want the goverment to make a company pay more? hay i have a idea, why dont you show up for work and do a days work!what kind of education do you have?i'm sick of these people around here thinking they have a RIGHT to a job.provide your employer with something worthwhile,
Needing to make a living wage does not make anyone a commie. The average CEO makes 300 times the money of those he employs, not counting the bailouts. Why are you so dead set against anything that helps our citizens. Anyone who disagrees with the right wing is demonized as lazy, welfare sucking, socialist and Obama worshipping. Come up with an actual point every so often.
Im not sure I should bother responding but it seems you are very confused. Your first mistake is thinking that ALL employees are worthless. That is a very generalized assumption and very incorrect.
Perhaps you are speaking from personal experience and the people you know do not work very hard. Well it would be a mistake to judge every situation based on your own very limited experience. I will tell you one thing…if an employer does not pay a fair wage, the good workers will go someplace else. And the employer will be stuck with those people you described in your post.
What good would a company be without their employees? Do you think the company would be as productive without the manpower to make things happen? Do you think the company would earn as much without extra labor? Wal-Mart would not be as successful without its workers. That goes for most major corporations and small business. I can tell you that I work very hard for my little bit of money and so do many other people. What has happened is that Some business owners forget about the people that make their business happen. They become greedy. And their wages grow disproportionate to their workers. The owner should be compensated more because they are the owner… however their success, to an extent, is built on the backs of their workers and the workers should be compensated as well. Workers should not be taken advantage of. And for your comment on education, do you want to pay more for garbage services because your garbage man is college educated? Not everyone can go that route.
How do you come up with the conclusion that people think they have a RIGHT to a job? I am confused by that statement.
Whoever it was spelled "hey" wrong. I stopped there. So, no, it wasn't worth you responding to it. You used too many big words for them to understand anyways.
when i read post like these i can tell the ones who have never owned a business, had to make payroll, had to find, hire, fire employees.actually come up with a business plan, implement the plan and have it produce a succesfull business.like pres-bo obammy for instance.
No way to play catch-up these days, is there?
The dollar's value drops as we spend more money for foreign goods than we take in.
As the dollar drops in value against the world's other currencies we will pay more and more dollars for oil. Simple as that.
Oil may go up and down short term, but will always be on an upwards trend in the long haul because of our long time and growing trade deficit.
