Barnesville city council named councilwoman Anne Claxton the mayor pro tem during a brief meeting Jan. 11. She takes the place of longtime mayor pro tem Lynn Wilson, who did not run for re-election last year.
"If I'm not mistaken, she's the first female mayor pro tem in the history of Barnesville," said mayor Peter Banks.

Good choice. Anne Claxton is committed to Barnesville and represents the entire city well. She has her finger on the pulse of this town. She is a woman of integrity, intelligence and truly has the citizens of Barnesville's best interests at heart.
