I have noticed recently while watching television that there are more commercials for depression and anxiety medication than ever before. I think they have even trumped the viagra heyday of Y2K.

Drug companies see this as an opportunity to capitalize on the problem but the reason depression is on the rise is because, we are increasingly laden with debt, or marriages are falling apart, we are exposed to greater amounts of drugs, there is no stability for us work-wise and we have tremendous stress in our lives.
As for anxiety, depression and anxiety go hand-in-hand and generally what the anxiety is about is knowing that one is depressed but not knowing how to get out of it, feeling helpless, hopeless and stuck.

These actions should not be confused with capitalism. Communist leadership has planted the seeds of greed, fertilized by bribery. Now United States communism has taken another turn by omitting special union health care plans from taxes.
Wake up folks. Some of you may think you are getting something for nothing, but in the end you will pay huge.

No wonder I drink.
I think you need pills or something to help.
Companies have less people doing more work and living under the scepter of sudden unemployment.
High anxiety!
1% of the population controls 50% of its wealth. Does that mean this 1% of the population has worked harder than everyone else? No, they have exploited the capitalist system. And they will ensure it continues by planting seeds of fear (commies commies everywhere) so that THEIR wealth is secure. I believe THESE people are the ones that should give back to the society and system that have made them rich. And I am sure none of them live in Barnesville so this does not apply to you. But your right, our government has failed us. Especially in the 80s during deregulation, which laid the framework for greed to go unchecked and allowed exploitation of the poor working class.
This is enough to make anyone depressed.
The Physicians Desk Reference states that SSRI antidepressants and all antidepressants can cause mania, psychosis, abnormal thinking, paranoia, hostility, etc. These side effects can also appear during withdrawal. Also, these adverse reactions are not listed as Rare but are listed as either Frequent or Infrequent.
Go to www.SSRIstories.com where there are over 3,500 cases, with the full media article available, involving bizarre murders, suicides, school shootings/incidents [51 of these] and murder-suicides - all of which involve SSRI antidepressants like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, etc, . The media article usually tells which SSRI antidepressant the perpetrator was taking or had been using.
I have no job, my wife and I filed bankruptcy; and. at last, my wife just found a job that pays $597 a month. I don't get any government help for anything(as a matter of fact I owe the IRS $1400 for last years taxes but I'll pay that soon).I don't have health care and don't want the Obamacare option. I just pay cash when I visit the doc. I could sit around and feel depressed but I have a house, a car and plenty of food. Ever been to the Islands and seen people living in car part and cardboard houses? Are they depressed? NO (even if they could afford the meds).
Yes I would like to see the guy that fired me go down. He'll pay when he meets his maker at judgment.
It's a waste of good Ammo to shoot them; and I would go down as well. Just get over it.
Get over it; the world doesn't owe you anything.

The site is a good read on Socialism vs. Capitalism. This might give you a better understanding of what capitalism really is, and not what todays liberals want you to think it is. You can form your own judgement if you take the time to read it.
I do agree that people are over medicated. It makes it difficult for the people who actually need help.
need - necessity. If it is not necessary, you do not need it.
I am interested in knowing if you have ever experience a major depressive episode? I doubt you have because you talk as if it's a walk in the park. It is something you can not know unless experience. The mental pain is inescapable and become a downward spiral to where mental and physical health is in jeopardy. Meds are often a viable option to help change the mind.
I’m not commenting on the medical aspect of depression and anxiety where medication perhaps should be and likely is a required. And to answer your question I have experienced depression but not in the terms that I think you refer to. Everyone in my opinion has experienced depression in some form but not to an extent of needing medication.
My comments are directed toward the declining United States and a disregard of the US Constitution and the direction we seen to be going as a nation. It has nothing to do with political parties. It has everything to do with dishonest people with hidden agendas. Just the nature of the direction of things today is causing anxiety in a tremendous number of people.
For anyone thinking that I am playing down real clinical depression for which I am not qualified to understand; that is not my intention and I do apologize to anyone that misinterpreted my comments. It is so very difficult to speak without being offensive to some that an explanation is often needed. I hope I clarified my position.
We're spiritually dying - this is by our own making.
Man's design for living has failed us - we need medication just to make it another day.
There is good news - it doesn't have to continue if we don't want it to.
