why should she be exempt from training? if she is not certified and stayed on the board then the county is right for making her resign. they gave her a chance to resign but she wanted a specticle to get some attention. how can any one argure for her to stay on when she knew she was not certified???? if she tries to stay on the board, I will protest my taxes. George Brown, I do not live in your district but I will work to get you beat this year!!! what a joke you are!!!
It's about time someone stood up and did something to change some things in this County. If this lady does not think it is important enough to stay updated on changes to the law and things related to assessments, etc., then I don't want her having ANY say so in anything related to my property. I too will protest my taxes if she stays on the board
Get with the times George, you should be working for the people of this county, not your own agenda. You are not my commissioner, I am in district 4, where we finally got rid of that jackass we had before, but think long and hard about your decisions, and remember, the people listen, and they vote.
Not sure where you obtained this information but Lisa is very up-to-date with the assessment laws and other real estate and zoning laws. I work with her on a regular basis and she is very knowledgeable and informed with local laws.
As I've said before, our county is in a hellofamess

I’m not real familiar with this subject but it appears just about all comments are searching for blood.
It appears this began in: County calls meeting to remove Dziedzic; Peavy weighs in posted on Tuesday, January 26. 2010, it says: In a letter to The Herald-Gazette, former assessor John Peavy was critical of Dziedzic, commissioner George Brown and personnel in the assessor's office.
"I nominated Lisa to cochairman when she first arrived. I grew up with her parents in Barnesville. I think she and her commissioner friend George Brown have been riding and promoting the wrong horse at the helm of the day to day operation of the assessor’s office. George Brown’s term is up and he'll have to run again this year," Peavy wrote.
1. What is the specific reason for the actions from the commissioners?
2. Why did Commissioner Brown vote against it?
3. Is all this based on a letter from one person?
I admit I don’t know the facts but if this is the result of a letter from one individual then Commissioner Brown was probably right to vote no.
I think all circumstances should be posted and made clear. If people are going to have the opportunity to comment on a subject then all the grievances from the commissioners should be made available. One letter from one person is not grounds to dismiss anyone.
Like her or not, she did not do what was required of a board member. She did not take the training nor did she make sure the assessments were being done correctly. She as well as the board needed to go so Lamar County could get some new members to make sure things are done right.
You still didn't answer anything. You just carried on with the same old rant and raves. I don't know the person! So what are the specifics.
1. What is the job description and how did she fail to perform.
2. "She did not take the training nor did she make sure the assessments were being done correctly." Like it or not - that is only hearsay.
3. "She as well as the board needed to go so Lamar County could get some new members to make sure things are done right."
--- What things are being done wrong? I'm sorry but these comments could be interpreted as discriminatory and lead to a law suit. After all, the commissioners are known for doing things out of the ordinary. You know, in the spirit of the law, just not within the law.
Not one person has justified these actions. Where are the supporting facts? If they can’t be substantiated, she should sue.
I ask questions in #10 and again in #11.1. Nobody has stepped up to offer anything of value. George did the right thing. When you make a comment like you did, "you should be working for the people of this county", I think you should consider that it means he works for all the people of the county. That means he don't let one single person get railroaded just because 3 other people do. It appears he stood up for values rather than siding with a group. I guessing that even though you condemn him because he didn't do what you wanted, he would give you the same support in local government because you are unable to do it yourself.
I called the state and verified that she did not receive the certification training and was not certified to take actions on the board or make official decisions as a board member. It is required by the state of Ga and is an official code section that deals with it. The commission was correct in removing her for failure to become certified as required. It is hard to argue for her now that I know this.
Thank you. Does this require a class or just a certification test? If a requirement exists such as a certification test or class, it is up to the county to schedule and pay for the test, as well as pay any transportation and logging cost associated with the test and or training class. I'm afraid to say that if the county has a requirement and did nothing to satisfy the requirement, the county doesn’t have a leg to stand on. On the other hand, if the county did make the effort to get her certification and she failed to comply, she doesn't have a leg to stand on. So the question is; which is it?
It is important to know everything before acting or it could cost the county more in a court.
yes but you cant drive without taking a test so why should be trust someone to assess tax amounts and not have been certified to do it???hmmmmmm.lamar county being a little two faced arent we! we want our kids to take that test to pass highschool but our tax assesor doesnt have to take any kind of certification?

Our neighbors in the northern part of the county needs to wake up and elect them a new county commissioner. Times up Mr. Brown.

How about a little clarification on the topic HG.
