After sentencing convicted killer Ronald Eugene Smith to life plus 20 years in prison last week for the murder of Charles Grave Adams, Judge Tommy Wilson ordered DFACS into the home of Smith's wife, Beth, to check on hazards to their children from drug abuse in the home.

Walter Geiger you really make me sick. Enought has been said about that i hope one day you feel the pain these families are feeling and i hope it gets printed all over a paper someplace. I hope she can sue this paper for slander, she has been tested for drugs many of times they have random drug testing at her work and she has always passed. I am going to suggest to her that she sees an attorney.

The article said he gave this info to the GBI, not that it was part of his trial. It sounds like a pretty good reason for DFACS to investigate and if his wife passes drug tests as you say, then she has nothing to fear. DFACS is there for a reason. Children deserve to be protected from meth.

To the person who said that the families have been through enough, let me remind you that Mr. Smith is the one who flapped his mouth about his night's activities before he shot a man in the face the next morning.
So he started this.
As another poster said, if his wife passes enough drug tests, she has nothing to worry about and at least we all will know someone is watching out for the children.
Mr. Smith obviously didn't care enough about his kids to make himself available to be there to raise them. Did he?
You may think this is sensationalist but this is an issue that needs to be brought to the forefront. It is one thing to turn yourself into a wetbrain when you're single and alone; it's a whole 'nother issue to drag innocent lives into it.
This is a cautionary tale and we better all pay attention to it. And if we know any children who are being raised (if the word raised can be used) we owe it to those children to get DFCS involved.

walter geiger, why don't you try reporting things that are worth reading. you seem to thrive in reporting such negative things about people. was this part of the trial about ronnie or was this gossip? if everyone were to unsubcribe to your paper we'd all have to read griffin paper, wow not such a bad idea. this family don't need to drag them any further down than what they are, so why don't you back off.

We should be more concerned about Mr. Adams' family....focus the attention where it needs to be.

No sympathy to any of the Smiths, with the exception of innocent children.....

Who cares about Mr. Adams family If Mr. Adams Hadn't been Useing meth and saleing meth out of his house none of this would have happened. yes we was doi ng drugs he tested positive. and as far as Ronnies wife she didn't shoot anyone and had no part in it. And as far as Ronnie admitted to a night of sex and drugs it thats so then both detectives lied on the stand because they testified that he was not on drugs when they interviewed both times and meth stays in your system for alot longer than a couple of days. They said he gave his first confection the very day Adams was shot the second one the next day. So whos lieing Ronnie or the detectives?

I have never been stopped for speeding when I wasn't speeding. Why is it a big deal that this is posted? I respect Judge Wilson for taking this step, as well as, Walter for doing his job. If the heat is too hot...get out of the kitchen. Cook your meth somewhere else.

They are just making up things as they go now. I guess some people just like seeing others suffer. Like the families havent suffered enough. You cant blame anyone else for what Ronnie did but Ronnie. And now he has to pay for it, its time for Beth andeveryone else to move on. Maybe this time she make a better choice on who she falls in love with. Adams tested negative for drugs. You need to get your facts straight. And that will be the last night of straight sex Smith will ever see because from now on he will be taking it instead of dishing it out. How anyone can try to defend someone for shooting an unarmed man is beyond belief! Smith is right where he needs to be and i hope the sob is so miserable he takes the same way out that the scumbag did that killed Kelli Hammond.

Yes, the home should be checked out. It sounds like he is trying to take her down with him. If so what a coward. If she has been tested several times and been negative then that proves he is a liar. If not, then the kids need to be somewhere else.

I feel the same way. And if she knew what he was planning on doing she should have been charged with accessory to murder. If they were such great parents who the hell was looking after the kids while they were having their little pre-murder party. One little call from his wife to the cops and Graves would still be here and we would be bloging about something else. Just because you can become parents doesnt give you to right to have children. Its in the childrens best interest that dfacs has the power to remove them from a bad home. And if the have to test his wife every day she has only her blabbermouth piece of crap husband to blame.

You right about DFACS taken children, but what about the judges that gives them back without listen to what the children have to say? I know for a fact there is one in LC that does that. And when things don't go there way, they use OUR taxes dollars to take it back to court cause they can't afford a lawyer. Why can't we stop that???

Beth's children are in a good home and well cared for. Beth is not guilty of child abuse or conspiracy or accessory to murder. Only God and Ronnie know exactly what led to the events of that night. Why can't you people find something else to rip apart and leave Beth and her family alone? I don't know what the notes about "trailer trash" and "ghetto" are about but I can assure you that it does not apply to Beth's family. Beth is a beautiful woman and is not on drugs. I see her in church regularly and there's nothing wrong with her face. The people writing all of the trash notes here would be better served by praying than bashing. God bless you all.

If Beth were such a Godly person what what she doing the night before Adams was killed? Answer that without reverting to God or even Georgia laws? While she is clearly not as guilty as her husband she must still bear some of the burden of Adams murder. If the drugs were so good that that they had such a passionate night, why kill the man? Ok...why would the judge publicly announce this so that whomever wanted could run to the one in question and tell her to throw her drugs away??? Makes no sense. If you want to catch someone you sneak up on them, not announce it to a courtroom full of people, geesh... This just might be why the judge told the GBI and not the courtroom!!!!

Plus why make these ignorant comments if the Wife can and has passed several drug tests. She is a mother and should be willing to prove herself clean!!! If she isnt clean then she shouldnt have her children. Too many children die because of ignorant drug abusing parents letting them basically watch themselves...
