Think Gordon could send a group of people to assist those living in poverty around here? Maybe help them rebuild so that their kids are sleeping on dirty floors? No? Okay then nevermind. Send them to Haiti because its apparent that Haiti needs more help than we do.
How about the group responding to this.

Taken from another post:
10 Americans held in Haiti jail for trying to help the people. I know they have been through a lot but that is biting the hand feeding you. It appears at least 8 of those held had no idea that the proper paperwork from the government didn’t exist. That government is corrupt and extortion is evident according to a note passed to news correspondents. America should set an example. Go in and take the Americans out of the jail and then pack up and come home. Let their corrupt government answer to the people of Haiti as to why America departed. I for one am tired of Americans going to aid those in need only to have them take advantage of help America is providing and making bad guys out of us.
yes its the wrong attitude!you go break another countrys laws you pay the price.who did those wacos think they were anyway?what would you do if someone from another country came to americe and just took it upon them selfs to haul off a bunch of kids?let'em rot in jail down there.
Well, of course they won't - there is no media coverage if you just help your neighbors!
I am certain the people of Haiti need help, please don't get me wrong but we have children in Lamar that will go hungry tonight and elderly people who will bundle up again tonight because they can't afford to turn on the heat. People are really struggling here in the great old USA with job cuts and pay cuts.. at some point we really need to take care of our own... first.
1#: They broke the law. If 10 Haitians came up here and tried to take a bunch of poor Americans and get them across the border then there would be hell to pay. And, we really don't know if they had good intentions for those kids. Sure they were from a "church", but we know how that can turn out too.
2#: Actually after I finished typing out #1 I'm kinda leaning toward let them go through the process themselves. If we try to go down and take them then we might get some rocks thrown at us or something. Rocks can hurt.
My Navy daughter and her shipmates have just set out to sea and are on call-up for Haiti.
They are trained and armed and I feel better about them going over than a church group, although I know the church group had very good intentions.
Sometimes, it's best just to let the trained folks go in and work to help- they have the equipment and the backing to take care of things like this.
My daughter's ship can make drinking water from sea water and they have medics on board.
I hope the church group gets out safely.
And if I understand the Gordon story posted here, isn't it about a monetary distribution rather than a group going over? Maybe I'm missing something here.
