A new opening for the former Rudy's Restaurant in Milner is expected to lead to the passage of the pouring license for beer and wine that was put on hold when former restauranteur Randolph Vaughn was arrested.

Sweetwater? Heck yeah! Now we're talking. I would love for some places to start offering Sweetwater. Or what about Brooklyn Lager? Have you had that? OMG
The actual beer has a body is translucent dark straw. The smell is a bit floral with a tiny hint of honey; sweet.
It has great drinkability and is best suited for red meats on the grill. Otherwise, just a good all around pour.
I'm hoping for Boulevard Wheat beer, it's out of Nebraska.
I can tell you that I like El Toro Loce very much and Slices is wonderful as well.
Looking forward to Tracy Wallace's new venture.
Hey, perhaps we should start a beer club. That would be fun. There are beer clubs everywhere. Why not Lamar?
However, I enjoy drinking beer a lot and having traveled to Europe I do enjoy a good pilsner. I would say my top 5 are:
Sam Adams Dark
Guinness
Bass
Brooklyn Pale Ale
India IPA
Thought this might be good reading for us too.

So, no, I have not had Blue Moon. A Coors product, huh? WOW. I am going to look it up and comment back. Thank you for the insight.
I can certainly understand your concern but I also think that we are talking about a full service restaurant with a pouring license and not a liquor store or bar and grille that has "nickel beer night."
In fact, 'Beer Drinker' and I would probably be the first to invite you in for a good pint and even better conversation!
Of course the food better be good too. I hope they make their meals from scratch and don't just open cans and call it home cooking.
This led to an adult, responsible, conversation on the art of beer making and developing a palette for such a drink. There was no mention of wild behavior or illegal activity or disrespecting "the fine churchgoing folks." In fact, I take that to mean that anyone who consumes alcohol is not a fine churchgoing person.
Although we could argue that from here to eternity I think the thread was reasonable and respectful and I am sorry it makes you sad. Luckily you will not ever be forced to partake in such a conversation nor patronize such a restaurant.
county tried to
keep us from having beer license for years, but I have
seen them in the next county buying wine and liquor
on Saturday's. They would rather pay another county
the tax money and not let Lamar get it. That way
they do not let other people from Lamar county see them
buying it.
Do we have any idea when the restaurant is slated to open, and what kind of food we can expect?
Here's another idea, an outdoor patio for the warmer months.
Both El Toro Loco and Slices have outdoor tables.
A cold brew outdoors on a warm evening, my idea of a good time.
I agree with the patio. I know Milner is not the most picturesque of places but a cool breeze, some music, and a cold one with maybe a good appetizer and some great conversation is just what I am up for.

I am jealous you go back once a month or so. I would love to visit more often just to get to do more cultured things that are deemed religious harlotry around here.
I might have to get you to pick me up some Pocky next time you get to NYC. That would be awesome. I miss Pocky AND Chinatown.
Pocky? OMG. You must try Pocky. I always bought it at Pearl River Market on Broadway off Canal St. Pocky (you can google it) is like this wafer cookie that is pencil shaped and dipped in chocolate. I LOVE IT!
Harlem is amazing. They closed Sylvia's though and a few other historic places. The brownstones are sweet though.
Last time I looked Wal-Mart had Pocky. Try looking there.
