The Diamond Trojans will host the Howard High Huskies from Macon at Aldora Field at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, to start the regular season.
Coach Greg Williams and the Trojan Dugout Club will formally introduce the varsity, junior varsity and middle school teams Monday, Feb. 15, in the middle school cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. at the annual Meet the Trojans banquet.
























There will be plenty of interesting items in the silent auction, including some autographed baseballs from players from the professional ranks. among other items.
The meal will consist of chili, baked potatoes, chili dogs, & all of the trimmings.
Coach Robert Morgan Bio
Coach Robert Morgan came to Georgia Southwestern State University from Barry University in Miami, Fla. where he spent two seasons as an assistant coach. In 2008, while serving as the hitting instructor, the Buccaneers posted a school record .338 team batting average. He was a student coach at Valdosta State University in 2006. As a player, Morgan was a standout at Valdosta State University, as well. An injury cut his senior season short, yet despite the setback, Morgan earned a spot on the 2005 First Team All-Conference Squad, and Team MVP Honors. Morgan was given the VSU Cup of Excellence Award, and was selected to the VSU All-Time Team, as a shortstop.
He was a 2004 ABCA First Team All-American and the Gulf South Conference East Division Player of The Year. He set numerous school records that season, including: a .436 batting average, 32 doubles, 172 total bases, 46 extra base hits and a 31 game hitting streak. The 32 doubles is also a national D2 record.
Prior to playing for the Blazers, Morgan was a First Team All-Region and All-Conference Selection at South Georgia College in Douglas, Ga. in 2002 and 2003, while posting a team-high batting average during both seasons. He played professionally for the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League (Independent). Coach Morgan is a graduate of Crisp County High School in Cordele, Ga. Morgan has a General Studies Degree and is currently completing his master's requirements in Sports Management.
