I'm always curious as to how people get jobs or get appointed to positions in this community?
Is it your qualifications, or is it who you know?
Mind you, I'm not knocking the appointees here, since I don't really know who they are....
I am still having difficulty understanding the purpose of Commissioner Bennie Horton’s rant at last night Commission meeting. Apparently someone on some blog somewhere was critical of him or his business efforts?? Commissioner Horton welcome to cyberspace! You have now spoken to the whole world! Not sure; however, an official meeting of the Lamar County Commission is the time or place for any Commissioner to vent their personal biases or problems to the public. Any comments should contribute to the understanding and promotion of county business. Oh, well it’s election season.
Commissioner Brown, not to be out done choose to announce in a very public manner his candidacy for reelection. As more often than not, Commissioner Brown bathes himself with self aggrandizement and self-adulation. An official public meeting with a captive audience is not the place for such announcements. Those who have observed Commissioner Brown for any length of time know that professional decorum has never been one of his strong suites. Unfortunately, Commissioner Brown tends to dominate the Commission meetings with his drivel and self-promoting comments. As always Commissioner Brown talks a lot; but in reality says very little.
I made a very long and detailed example why Horton decided to come after us "Anonymous". However, it appears that it was too harsh for the moderators approval. I do agree though that he showed he truer side last night.
Cats, it is known as the "Good Ol' Boys + One Good Ol' Girl Network" who harbor reserved hopes of future "scratch my back and I will scratch your back" situations where pay back is made by the annointed...err,
I meant to say appointed.
Maybe in the Commissioners "spare" time, they could step up and run all Lamar County functions and save the personnel expenditures.
Sir Matthews lords over Lamar County as if it is his fiefdom and the citizens are his serfs.
It appears Sir Horton has very thin skin similar to Obama and can't accept less than flattering appraisals regarding him. Pity...Pity.
You are so full of your judgmental comments, why don't you run for commissioner (or maybe you have or maybe you are a product of some the changes that are being made and you don't like it). I get tired of listening to people like you who have nothing to do but bitch. If you are not part of the solution, you are just part of the problem.
